So I was watching South Park yesterday and Joe Esposito's "You're the Best" made an appearance. You know, the song that played while all the miscellaneous crap guys were knocked out of the tournament in first Karate Kid. I downloaded the song and got to thinking that I'd like to make an 80's Workout CD. Now I need help determining some other worthy songs. I've already got this Rocky sountrack which has some good stuff on it already, including Eye of the Tiger.
Any suggestions?

Hmm, I like Obsession...yeah, I could work out to that.
Maybe some Billy Idol (To Be a Lover, White Wedding. Dancing With Myself, Cradle of Love), Eurythmics (Would I Lie To You, Missionary Man). You want uptempo here if you're doing anything cardio (if you're lifting, you should be going heavy metal). Some Robert Palmer (Simply Irresistible, Bad Case of Loving You, and Get It On w/Power Station), Robert Plant (Hurting Kind, Your Ma Said You Cried, Tall Cool One), Walk this Way (DMC). Maybe even a little Duran Duran.

I can't believe some of the suggestions here. Do some of you actually know what "workout music" means? Some of the songs listed are so limpid and lame that they are the opposite of workout music. Or were you just thinking of whatever 80s songs that pop into your head?

Three words to the whack, step yourself back
Just gettin' down, and you then you're givin' no slack
Like a Burger King with a sack of Big Macs
We're throwin' down with the radical sacks
On time, in your mind you see
You gotta boogie to your best ability
You gotta funk it up until it knocks you down
And when you're funkin' up, be sure to pass it around
Come on, let's go to work
We got what'll make your body jerk
Make you throw your hands up in the air
Shake your booty and scream, "Oh, yeah"
'Cause we are the Jam On Crew
And jammin' on it is how we do the do
We'll funk you up until you boogie down
So come people check out the sound
Have you tried working out to anything by Patrick Swayze....what was that song...she's like the wind?

That website rocks. Ah, the good ol' days. I did learn a shocking truth. Back in the days of my serious clubbing, Holiday Rap was big one summer. I knew they were from Europe, but two geeky white guys? C'mon, MC Miker G and DJ Sven, say it ain't so. Now I know why I never did see a video of that song on TV. Sven looks like Jim Carrey with a porn moustache, and he wears loafers, for god's sake.

I will say the trip was worth it however, seeing Ms. Carlisle tucked in the corner of the room in heaven is a place on earth and Ms. Hoffs at the mike like an egyptian. I'd say Belinda still looks pretty good in her 2005 performance on the associated linky on youtube.
