What shows are everyone looking forward too this summer?
As of now, nothing coming to Pittsburgh I really want to see. But, 2 tours that I'd really like to road trip to--
Reel Big Fish and MxPx in Baltimore on July 9th
311 in Cleveland on August 5th
Trying to convince my wife we should road trip...but she's due with our 2nd child in late August, and doesn't think travelling would be such a great idea!!

I was just thinking about this the other day when listening to some ad for a concert on the radio. . .
I have been to two concerts in the last 6 years. I saw "Concrete Blonde" in Feb '02 and Bob Dylan sometime in early '04 or so. That's it.
I can't think off the top of my head who I would be interested in seeing that's currently on tour. Then again, I have no idea who is currently on tour. I have fallen off the music-world map.

I just got my Reel Big Fish tickets today for the July 8th date in Cleveland @ the HoB!! I've seen them several times - they put on a good ass show.

I'm taking my two boys to their first concert on June 29th... Ozzfest.
It's going to be quite the eye opener for them, but they are really looking forward to it. They are 12 and 17 years old so I am sure they can handle it. I was 12 when I went to my fisrt concert which was AC/DC Back in Black tour and I managed to live through it. I'm either a fool or pulling off father of the year for them (I'm leaning towards fool). Will know the day after. :)
Not looking forward to most of the bands this year but want to see Lacuna Coil and System of a Down.
My wife is begging me to take her to see Elton John and I try not to make eye contact every time she mentions it.

Seen them MANY times myself, agree great show. But, for whatever reason, MxPx is not with them on that date. My wife really likes MxPx, but only tolerates RBF. So, in order to make it a go, we'd have to do the Baltimore date.

I'm leaning towards going to the Desdemona Festival (http://www.desdemonafestival.com) here in Cincinnati in a couple weeks. Besides that I haven't seen anything around here I am interested in.

I won a tickets off the radio to 5 different shows this summer: Charlie Daniels, Loretta Lynn, Clint Black/Dwight Yoakam, Brooks & Dunn, Toby Keith.
Only wish they came to town in the reserve order.

Styx is playing in Greenville, WI (with REO Speedwagon) on July 29th as well...only downside to that: I am getting married that day :( hehe...

Lacuna Coil played about a year or so ago here in Huntington. Great band. The lead singer has an AMAZING voice live.

I wanted to go see John Mellencamp the night of my wedding. I tried convincing my wife we'd get upgraded to the front row if we came in our wedding attire.

Going to see Dave this wed at Six Flags Darien Lake and then again over pre-4th of July weekend in Wisconsin when I go to Chicago.
Kenny Chesney - July 14 at MSG. Not s huge country fan but i'll listen to it, either way its a fun time in the city to get drunk and hang out with friends.
Had tickets to see Taking Back Sunday and Angels and Airwaves but this whole accident has ruined every part of summer so far so I had to get rid of them.
Actually now that I think of it, that Chesney concert is no guarantee either.

Seattle Bumbershoot complete lineup: http://www.bumbershoot.org/lineup.htm
Would like to see A Tribe Called Quest and Zero 7. Kids want to see Yellowcard and Hawthorne Heights so we'll probably go to those also.

I'm taking the girl and her friends to Milwaukee for Summer Fest in July, mostly to see The Click Five. It is going to be painful.
We are also going to Rascal Flatts in August.

I went to Tom Petty last night and it was awesome.. Even though he sorta looks like he is dead, it was still great.

I recently heard that punk visionaries X are going on a summer tour. It'll be nice to see some old school punk guys show the young'uns how it's done.

What? I hate to say it, but you're at least 6 years late on both shows.

I have seen Tom Petty about a dozen times. He always rocks the house. How was the new material? I am looking forward to buying his new cd on July 25th.

Lacuna Coil played about a year or so ago here in Huntington. Great band. The lead singer has an AMAZING voice live.
Ozzfest was yesterday and it was better than I expected.
Lacuna Coil played for 20-30 minutes with most songs coming from the latest CD. They had sound issues during the first song but nailed the rest of the set.
Main Stage:
Dragonforce - Not into them at all, played for 20 minutes. Meldoy metal is the only thing that comes to mind to describe them.
Lacuna Coil - Great set but rushed through it. Only downside was their cover of Enjoy the Silence by Depeche Mode. 20 minutes.
Hatebreed - Loud. :) Not into them but they got the crowd going. 30 minutes.
Avenged Sevenfold- I honestly thought these guys were going to be horrible but they played well and got the crowd going. Pulled off a solid cover of Panteras "Walk". 30 Minutes
Disturbed - Wow. Went into this not really liking them much but they sound great live. Impressive set lasting about an hour with new and old material.
System of a Down - Played an hour or more. The first half of the set was incredible solid. I had heard they were not suited for an outdoor venue and sound better in smaller settings but they hit everything perfect. Second half of the set slowed a bit and they got sloppy, almost like they were goofing around.
Ozzy - I didn't know if I should laugh or cry. Opened with a 5 minute video of his career. Mix of old and new stuff and a few Black Sabbath songs included. I thought he was off most of the night and didn't sound that great. I'm not a big fan anyway so that might have something to do with it. Zakk Wylde pulled guitar duty for him, stopping in the middle of the set to perform a 10 minute solo... ugh. Ozzy played for an hour and towards the end of the set kept saying "One more song", he would leave and come back and repeat "One more song". This happend roughly 4 or 5 times and was somewhat comical. It was like he forgot what he was doing.

Errrr..............OK?
Went to the kenny chesney, carrie underwood and dierks bentley concert last night at MSG. It was awesome. Somehow Eli Manning made his way on to the stage, Carrie Underwood should be nominated for Hot or Not bc she will be our new #1. Havent drank in the city in a while but I was surprised, drinks werent as much as I was anticipating.

Going to see Tom Waits in Atlanta on August 1st. He hasn't toured the South since the mid-70s, from what I've read, and since he doesn't tour much anyway...should be quite the event.

Same here....I'm driving to Birmingham with a buddy of mine to see them on Sept 5. They're playing in Atlanta two days before that, but we got seventh row tickets to this one. :)

It's not the summer anymore, but instead of starting a new thread.
I have tickets to the Red Hot Chili Peppers in Columbus on the 30th.
I will be 15 feet(approximate) from the stage. Second row. Never been more pumped in my life for a concert. They have been my favorite band for as long as I have followed music.
