Let's do the big 12 proud! It looks like coach Jamieson has decided to restore some of the pride in the program that slick-boy Quin took away. Cal-State is going to be tough, but we have taken out some pretty heavy hitters these last couple of weeks. Two wins away from Omaha!
Can you hear me? M-I-Z-
Sooner fans: We hope to see you guys there. How about an all big 12 championship game? Well I better stop before I get too far ahead of myself. (which come Monday morning this post will either look really stupid or really insightful)

Z-O-U!
I live close to Fullerton and I know the coach.
Evil plans are afoot.
Well, evil if you're a Titan fan.

Are you able to make any of the games? Something tells me none of the venues will be sold out, but I guess I could be way off. I am also new to the super regional concept, but do we alternate being the home team with them or do we have to be the visitors the whole series?

My understanding is visitors the whole series.
As to whether I can make any of the games, the first one starts in 15 minutes, I think (schedule says 10 pm, that has to be EST).
I could maybe make it to tomorrow's. Probably not Sunday's.
We shall see.

Looks like this 'Bama blowout is going to run over a little bit. I don't know if I have ever seen the Tigers (in any sport) start at the beginning of a game on ESPN.

I have. They played Kansas on my birthday in January '99 (hoops).

I'm just happy that Georgia Tech managed to win game one of their series today. Surely, SURELY, they can manage to win one more at home. (says the guy hoping against hope here, as SuperRegionals haven't been kind to the Jackets in recent years).

I was watching the beginning of that game at the gym and the Charleston pitcher has some great stuff. It was 1-0 when I left. Looks like Tech blew it open later, eh?

Just nickels & dimes really. Another HR by Weiters in the 5th (now 10-for-13 with seven walks, four homers and eight RBIs in four NCAA tournament games), an RBI single by Weiters in the 7th, an 8th inning single by Hodges drove in run number 4 and an error in LF produced the final run.
The big moment was probably when the bullpen got a strikeout with runners on the corners & 2 out in the 7th to preserve what was just a 2-0 at the time.

Call me a homer, but I say yes. Missouri has really put it together the last month, with Hunter Mense getting back on track, Bond being hot, Scherzer and Culp being themselves and a whole lot of other guys stepping up. Those two freshmen who stepped up last Sunday to throw complete game victories with the team's back against the wall and the starting staff tapped out was huge.
Missouri has taken an early lead and that might be all Scherzer needs. When he and Culp are on, they are tought to beat. And Scherzer looked on in the first inning.

Looks like it alternates, since GT is batting first today (in spite of being at home)

That seems pretty fair. I understand giving the extra home game to the higher ranked host, but at least one of the home games should go to the lower ranked team.

I would like to state that Scherzer is both a product of my college and high school. (even though I am so long gone from high school that I am worried I am becoming one of the losers who is begging for a connection)
I was worried going into the whole thing that our offense might stall against some of the elite college pitchers, but I have a feeling we can pull game #2 out tonight. FWIW, I also was confident Quin was going to pull out a tourney appearance and then Haskins would make a run in the big 12 tourney so I may be somewhat of a homer.

Well, evil if you're a Titan fan.
If rumors + your possible implications are true, as an LSU fan, those would be more like happy good plans.

if thats true, maybe you can clear something up. there was a debate last year as to whether or not he wanted the texas a&m job, and who turned who down. what was the story with that?

More casual knowledge than intimate. I've met him a handful times in the course of doin' the journalism thing, but I wouldn't call him a close personal friend or anything like that.

I don't leave until the AM and I just got home to see us down 5-0. Man, we need some hitting.
