FM: Newbie Question

I just picked up WSM06, what should I be doing with my feeder clubs? Should I be setting up friendlies with them, and who should I set games up with?

I'd just let the asst manage your reserve and u18 teams. There usually isn't a need for them to play friendlies.

EDIT - After loading up my game, my asst man arranged some friendlies for my reserve team. So I guess I shouldn't say they don't "need" to play friendlies. I just don't usually worry about them.

I also just let my assistant manager (who is good with youngsters) manage both squads.

I usually make sure, though, that if my AM does not have great ratings for coaching with youngsters, I have a coach with a high rating in that category, take charge of that team.
