Whooo Hoooo!! I am pumped up about this game.
My bro and I played RA2 and Yuri to death and we both are looking forward to this one.
I preordered it last month so maybe perhaps, I will get it early just like I did SimCity 4, which I got 5 days before it was actually in stores.
(Fingers are crossed)
:D

Under my new plan, I won't buy it until the price drops below $20. In fact, I have yet to play Red Alert 2, so I would like to try that one out first.

Thanks, I was wondering when a new C&C was coming out.
I've played all of the C&C games to death.
Finally, a new non-sports game to play.

Problem with Red Alert 2 is that it doesn't incorporate a lot of the new advancements in regards to interface. You may find yourself having to click much more often than you would like to among other minor annoyances that will add up to an overall outdated feel, IMHO.
Personally RTS games have worn thin by my tastes throughout the years. From the early days of the original Warcraft and Command & Conquer demos I have played nearly every single one released. At about the time of completing Total Annihilation & Starcraft they just couldn't hold my attention any longer. Age of Empires II lasted only so long and the newest versions of C&C as well as Age of Mythology just didn't make the grade. Speaking of Age of Mythology, are the cut scenes graphics really as bad as the demo makes them out to be? Wow were they horrific.
Will C&C Generals be the one to refreshen the genre and bring us old timers back into the mix?
I for one hope so.
BTW, is it worth taking the plunge and saving $10 by preordering today or wait until the price drops naturally and at least one patch has been release? Thoughts anyone?

Anyone get this yet?
Any thoughts on paying full price?

couriers, I have it!!!
It is totally awesome!! I am still in the beginning stages of learning to play, it is a little different then previous efforts, cuz this one is in 3D.
Gamespot already has an review up for it. They gave it a 89!!
Not too shabby. I have seen 3 reviews so far and they average out to be a 95.
I will post more info later.
Enjoy the game guys!!

Call me insensitive, but I love the design of the GLA.
You have units such as:
rebel (specialty: capture building)
angry mob (specialty: fire bomb)
terrorist (car bomb)
hijacker (capture vehicle)
suicide bomber
sniper
toxin tractor (contaminate)
scud missle (bio upgrade)
And building such as:
tunnel network
arms dealer
palace

I have been playing for a day and a half now and I must say it is truly a great game to play, very entertaining!!
If you have played past games of the C&C series, especially RA2 and Yuri, then this ones even better.
Generals is now 3D and the graphics, gameplay and the explosions of bombs, vehicles blowing up are very well done.
If you want to read any other reviews go to the sites that have been metioned above in this thread.
Enjoy!

Yeah, I am actually pondering whether to start with the GLA or the USA. With all the sheet going on in the world, I guess USA would be the 'politically correct' choice. :)

I know this is probably 2 years too late, but I just picked up a new copy of Red Alert 2 for $10. Also, Best Buy had Grim Fandango for $1.99!

Grim Fandango for $1.99 is a great deal.

I actually thought I was buying it for $9.99, but it rang up for $1.99. I even pointed it out to the clerk, but he insisted that was the price. Some tout this as the greatest adventure game of all time...
