Yup. The coverage isn't terrible and funny enough, I find it somewhere between curling and poker.

That's almost as bad as Magic: the Gathering on ESPN2.

Really? I caught some of it and thought it was somewhere between paint drying and paint being applied.

Of course, that's on ESPN2 and the USA World Cup game from today is on ESPN Classic. Can a sporting even that took place a few hours ago be a "classic?"

That's how I feel about watching poker. But I guess this is really just ESPN Deportes show that isn't really meant for normal ESPN, but they must be out of stuff to show today.

What's next on TV? Teeball? Pro Wiffleball? Ultimate Kickball?

I'm hoping for some Pro Slaps...you know..you hold your hands under someone else's, and try to slap the tops of their hands.

What about Pro Freeze Tag?

I guess no one here plays online dominoes then eh?

It's as exciting to watch as poker BTW.

This is another reason ESPN is a joke.

Poker - Not a sport
Spelling Bee - Not a sport
Dominoes - Not a sport
Have I missed anything?

At least they cancelled that debacle that was Bons on Bonds.

You've got to be kidding me... DC of all people is knocking an obscure sport?!

Funny thing is, I saw the thread, saw DC posted it, and thought that DC was going to give us a rundown of the top Dominoes players in the world that we should be watching on TV right now.

hahahaha... awesome. Nah, I'm not up on dominoes. Finnish Baseball? I got you covered, but dominoes...not yet. :)

I'm not knocking it. Actually, I secretly get excited whenever I see obscure sports on TV, because I know that it means we're not far off.

Did I tell you guys about the ESPN Deportes lady that emailed me last October about wanting to do a feature on Toccer/Tennis Polo?

The problem is, with me being in Wyoming and all the worthwhile players being on the east coast, I couldn't get back out there to arrange something as fast as she wanted it.

CSTV showed interest in broadcasting college tennis polo, once we put it together.

My goal is to have something worthwhile to show by next spring.

What's with the dim lighting and all those dudes standing around? Are they supposed to be officials?

It just seems slightly too congenial for me, like..I did like that it's a team game, but..it would be better if we could watch it where they talk trash, smoke and curse each other out in Spanish.

Maybe that's coming, though.

ESPN Dominoes for the PSP, coming soon. ;)

Yeah, they went to a commercial at one point and you could hear the guys talking to each other as they went out. That was the first moment I realized this was not a US thing, even though it was in Vegas.

BTW, I am pissed I have to leave for work. Tonight on A&E at 9 (so 10 Eastern) they have the Rock, Paper, Scissors Championships for an hour.

Watched a few minutes of it (that's what happens when you're home sick; they don't put much of anything good on, and I include the US/Czech World Cup "match" that was on). My biggest gripe was they expected you to be a domino expert if you're watching. Why not take 30 seconds and explain WHY playing the double-3s was better than the double-6s? And after watching about six hands, I *think* the way you win is to be the first to empty your tray, but they never say so, and these guys were declaring a winner before that actually happened (it was apparently obvious who was about to win). Just horrible coverage if you're trying to grab new fans to the "sport".

Yeah, they seemed to be broadcasting it as if we all knew what was going on, because they must've watched a lot of poker and took all their cues from that. The difference is, people DO know poker.

They don't all know Dominoes.
