You must have missed ESPN's riveting coverage of dominoes earlier today.

Has anyone started calling it Roshambo yet?

One good thing about this -- if Dave Attel TiVos this, he can have a digital archive of the moment his career crashed to a dead stop.

I actually thought the Rock Paper Scissors thing was going to be entertaining to watch. Call me a puddle of goo, but I think it would have been better if they had filmed it more "seriously" like the National Spelling Bee or something. I mean, isn't the joke supposed to be that these people are taking Rock Paper Scissors seriously? They don't need to turn the entire production into a big joke, too. I watched it for 5 minutes and couldn't take it anymore, even though I had been looking forward to it.

I wish that I had seen the dominoes competition, but where I come from, you'd better enjoy dominoes or you're going to be alone at a family gathering.

Same here... I had seen a few promos leading up to it, and thought it was a joke of some kind... then I was looking at the guide on my satelite, saw this listed as an hour-long(!) "event", and called a buddy to tell him that our long-since-thought-dead dreams of professional athleticism were officially revived. Was watching, waiting for hilarity to ensue, and realized that it was not being played straight, but rather as a joke. This angered me beyond comprehension, as it reduced me from thinking, "these guys playing = the network = idiots" to just, "these guys playing = idiots". A fine point, to be sure, but I still felt defeated and demoralized.

btw, I'm training now to prepare for next year's "event"!!!11!1!1!!!!!!
