I just got back from an event with Joel Surnow, Howard Gordon, Robert Cochrane, and a few cast members from "24" (Chloe, President Logan, and Tony Almeda). Surnow was pretty quiet about what's coming up in Season 6, but he did let a few things drop.

If you don't want to know, stop reading.

The show will do stuff in D.C. next year. The president will be based in D.C., but most of the show will continue to be shot in Los Angeles.

Aaron Pierce will be back next year. Interestingly, Surnow said he was originally going to be killed off in Season 5, but the actor convinced the producers there had been too many main characters die.

President Logan will be back next year as well, or at least that was strongly suggested by Surnow.

And one spoiler for the “24″ movie, which is currently being written. It was described by Surnow as a big action flick that will not be tied to real time (but will take place over 24 hours). It will also be shot on location, and Surnow mentioned it would have a lot of overseas filming.

VERY happy that Pierce is going to be back. I have loved his character since day one and really would have been disappointed if they killed him off.

This just makes me that much more excited for January to fucking GET HERE!!!!

The movie will have overseas footage but the season will be mainly in LA? Hmm, does that mean that the movie will be out before the season and will be the "escape from China".

I don't think the movie is set to come out for a couple years...

PS - What kind of event was this? I would love to go to one, heh

No, they're just writing the movie now and they begin shooting the first episode for Season 6 in a month. Surnow said they were on page 23 of the script for the first episode.

And this was a fairly bizarre event. It was sponsored by the conservative Heritage Foundation, had Rush Limbaugh as moderator, and Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff spoke before the "24" folks came on stage.

By the way, Chloe is incredibly hot when she's not in character, and very funny too.
