Welcome to Highlander, the game where each winner hosts the next game. The goal of a Highlander game is to create a small game where answers are pm'd to the host and, hopefully, only one person will win. There can be only one winner in Highlander.

This one involves no math also, and as much or as little research as you want.

I'm booking a flight from Chicago to NYC, on Friday, July 14th, with a return on Sunday July 16. I'd like my flight to arrive by 7:30 pm. However, I'm not sure if I can get a half day off, so I might have to scrap that, and arrive late. On Sunday, my flight will leave sometime after 5 PM; beyond that, the earlier the better. As for when I get around to booking the flight -- well, that depends on when I find out about the half day. I haven't even started working at this place yet, so I have no idea how long that will take.

As for my shopping skillz, there's not much -- I've been looking at travelocity.com, as well as united.com and ata.com (thinking about booking it from the airline itself, in case i need to change my flight time).

Anyway, my question for you, Highlander-wannabes, is how much will I pay for my flight?

All you have to to is guess a number and then pm it to me. To guess, just send me your guess for the cost of the flight. Please put your guess right in the title of the pm.

Assuming no one guesses the exact cost, whoever is closest wins. Simple!

Answers are due by 5 PM Central, Thursday, June 30, or when I book my flight, whichever comes last.

And remember...there can be only one!

No. I'm not going to wait around that long to book the flight. It looks like it will end up being today or tomorrow.

Which airport are you using? (in Chi-town and NY)

...and are you flying direct?

For Chicago, I'm not picky. For NYC, I'm told Newark would be best, but a pick-up can be accommodated at any airport, so I'm not too worried about which one. And I'd *like* to fly direct.

The flight has been booked. If people want to change their answers as a result of that info, that's fine. I just want people to know that results should be expected tonight.

Sorry -- real life kept me from posting the results last night.

Once I was able to procure the proper time off, my flight was booked. 4 PM departure, 7:51 arrival. Then my return flight on Sunday was later than I would have liked -- I'll have to spend the day in the airport, not leaving until 8:45 PM, returning 10:17 PM. The cost: $253.80.

We have a psychic in our midst, I tell you what. Not twenty minutes after I posted the original puzzle, the second guesser came up with a guess of $254. Congrats to digamma, for his amazing guess!

Other guesses: 150, 213, 214, 218, 222, 237, 285, 324, 340, 479
