Yeah, I've got FSD Tivoed for the press conference at 1 p.m. EST.
I feel sad, but also happy that he knew when to call it a day.

Yzerman is the last of my childhood heroes to call it a day. Not many (any?) players can say they've won the Selke, Masterton, and the Pearson. I know I'm going to miss him.

Thank you to Steve.
I may only be a casual hockey fan, but Yzerman helped make the game enjoyable to watch. It's too bad that all great careers must come to an end. He has truly been a great captain and will be sorely missed.

he obviously reminds me very much of my own favorite professional athlete of all time, another center from BC who wears #19 and, I hope, will spend his entire career with the same team.
I really enjoyed watching Stevie Y play. One of the all-time greats, both on and off the ice.

Classy.
That's me baby. Also the post was really more directed at HB, who would have likely seen the good humor intended behind my post given our back and forth history.

Still, that was bad timing.
I don't know or care about your history with HB: One of my sports heroes just retired, and I feel that he deserves respect, even from foes, if only for this day.
