I never really understand critically acclaimed movies like Lost in Translation or Being John Malcovich, so I should have thought twice before renting Cache. But it had a 95% "rotten tomato" rating and it said it was a powerful French thriller so I thought it would be something that I might enjoy.
So what gives with the ending? Do I not understand this movie because I don't understand the French history with Algeria? (As referenced in a couple of the reviews I read to try and figure this movie out) Or do I not understand this movie simply because it is too deep for my simple mind? Can anyone explain this better then the rich guy is a metaphor for the modern war on terror? If that is the case I might have to stick with War of the Worlds and Baseketball for future movie viewings. This movie has me confused and not in a good way.
