Does anyone subscribe to this? Looks like it is a weekly publication and I was just wondering the quality of the paper as this is something you wouldn't just read and throw away.

If the subscription stuff is shoddy I'd just as soon buy the compilation books.

My wife is a bigtime fan of The Onion.

Don't subscribe, just grab a free copy every couple of weeks. Then read and throw away.

Bathroom material.Nice. In just two words you have laid out the complex reasoning for the continued existence of The Sporting News.

I'll find that sometimes you'll come across an article that's been done before, and I don't read it every week. But it's still good quality. I don't know how much a subscription costs, but here in Chicago, you can find them for free all over the place (granted, that doesn't help you). Check to see if they carry it at Borders, or other bookstores before getting a subscription.

99% of my onion experience if from their web site. Years ago I was at a party where they had a book of the onion and figured one day I would buy one but never did. I just found the subscription on the site today and it's like $40 USD per year, which seems reasonable, but I don't want 52 newspaper quality onions laying around per year. The book form is nice, but I wouldn't mind giving them some money via subscription if the format is easily archived.

I long for the days when this was just a Wisconsin secret.

worth the price of admission... at least a few articles have me in tears every week. and the fact that it is more widely known saves me a few odd glances from people "not in the know" on the bus/train/coffeeshop each week!

I am thankful for the free subscription.

The only thing truly worth reading is Dave indred's column.

Otherwise, it's not even as journalistically sound as The Onion.

If you get the paper version, don't throw it away! Recycle it, or at least use it for toilet paper or something. This is why we have the Internet :)

Quite hilarious, and I totally agree.
