Anyone else order this dreck of a ppv?

The Ortiz vs Shamrock fight was a complete joke, a year of build up for 1 minute and 18 seconds via ref stoppage... Here earlier in the card a guy was beat to a bloody pulp and the ref doesn't stop the fight - but Ortiz lays a few elbows and we get a stoppage? They also had the balls to start talking about Ortiz Shamrock 3 right afterwards.

Sylvia vs Arlovski was like a poor man's boxing match, I have no clue what Arlovski was planning on doing but it certainly didn't get him the decision.

But I think what pisses me off the most with UFC pay per views is they waste SO MUCH time, Jet Li commercials, promos we've seen 8 times, Hyping up a tv show DURING the main event, among other things... it's utterly ridiculous and most definitely will be the last UFC ppv I order - which says alot considering I wasn't even the one paying for it.

I guess it was still kind of funny hearing Wanderlei Silva saying he wants to fuck Chuck Lidell though (then correcting himself to say fight). Way to win the crowd over.

I watched it. What a snooze fest. You pretty much have it covered. They stopped the Ortiz-Shamrock fight way too soon. Just when I thought it couldn't get more boring along comes Arlovski-Sylvia.

Lame.

and dola...

My wife is at the Mandela Bay to see Chris Isaak while I'm at home with the kids. Sure enough, just as I had expected, she calls me after the concert and says they went over to the events center to see if they could see any fighters. She tells me there's a lot of people getting pictures from people she doesn't recognize. I tell her, go ahead and get some picturers with whoever they are so I can see if I recognize them. She starts sending me pictures of her and Chuck Liddell, Matt Hughes, Diego Sanchez and on and on and on.

wanderlei doesnt need to win the crowd over, thatll come easily enough when he knocks chack out.

ken/tito was kind of iffy but it looked to me ken went limp after the first or 2nd elbow. i consider herb to be the best ref in mma so im going to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Not a good card. We didn't need to see Shamrock fight again, and no one was surprised. What huge news though with Silva fighting Liddell though, wow. That one has been years in the making.

Fujita is apparently coming over to fight on that card for UFC in November as well, and rumors are about that UFC has Silva for 3 fights. We could be looking at a golden age in MMA competitions if they're really going to start sharing. Huge shock, but Pride has taken some hits recently with their TV deals and some other issues, so breaking out over here is much more important now.

I'll be rooting for Silva big time, I wish it was in the ring and not the cage, but it should be a hell of a fight. I think Chuck has problems against fighters who really push the fight so that's an advantage for Silva, but Silva throws some very wild looping punches and we know how good of a counter-puncher Chuck is. I have no idea how it will go, I give the advantage to Wandy, but not by much.

Of course, if Liddell is looking towards Silva too much, he could find himself surprised by Babalu. Wandy is also fighting a lot of fights recently so that could be bad, he just fought and he'll be fighting once and possibly twice more in September against REAL good competition in the Openweight Grand Prix, and he's already banged up.

What I really want to see is Pride to seend Fedor, Cro Cop, Hunt, or hell..Aleks or Sergei over to shut Sylvia the hell up. The UFC HW division is bordering on embarassing now.

This is great news though, I hope the UFC sends some guys over also. I think both organizations win by this sort of deal. I know there's fear of your best guy losing and making you look bad, but I think you're going to gain a lot of fans win or lose with this deal.

Crappy night. Bad stoppage on the Shamrock fight, although Shamrock was going to get destroyed one way or the other anyways.

Arlovski was seriously disappointing. Mir ... well, the guy should have retired after breaking his leg. He looks like a shell of a fighter. The UFCs HW division continues to suck ... is anyone excited for Monson - Sylvia title fight ... yawn.

At least the future is looking good w/ a possibly Liddel vs. Wandei fight (drool). Watch Babalou come along and screw it up though. :) I'd love to see Cro Cop or Fedor come over and just throttle big Tim.

That can't help the marketing that their two 'dream' fights in the last two pvps have been one-sided and short.

Pretty bad show yeah, but the Shamrock fight was stopped at the right time. You can't compare it to the Edwards situation at all. Yves was fighting back and still being competetive, he just got cut on a spot that happens to produce a ton of blood, Ken was laying on his back taking moster elbows to the head and not fighting back. If Herb Dean didn't step in there he would of just taken more and more elbows. Ken and the fans can complain all they want, but this isn't a gladiator fight, it's a sport, and if you arn't gonna fight back it's gonna be stopped.

I'm not sure what their contract status is, but if Ortiz/Shamrock 3 happens I doubt it will be in UFC, Dana White is smarter than that.

I actually fell asleep during the heavyweight title fight, I woke up what seemed like 3 hours later and the thing was still going on, I thought it was the replay. Horrid, horrid fight.
