Turbo Sliders?

I noticed in the archives that there used to be a fofc sliders league. Is anyone interested in maybe starting this up again? I downloaded the pay version last night but was able to find the old free versions here,

Im playing right now on this new version. The demo version of it only allows certain races to be played but im playing on US Demo Server 2 right now. Same 3 races and it's stocked with computer cars but it's still kind of fun. I think theres 1 other human playing with me right now.

At 9pm tonight I will set up a TEST server. I have the pay version but to make sure we are all using the same game, it will be with the version 0.86b (free version).

Later on we can decide if we want to use the pay version.

It looks like network play will be difficult with the older versions. I think you guys will be able to connect to my server even with the demo version. Again, anyone who can AIM me at KNSmith85 to test it out would be greatly appreciated.

Me and sovereignstar have had a lot of trouble getting connected to the same server.

I'm using a router and he's behind a firewall. IIRC, it is best to have someone hosting who has neither of those things.

See above. We need someone with no firewall/router/etc.

If that's you, feel free to create a server on version 1.0.8 (give it text of "FOFCFOFC" or something like that to identify it), and post when you do -- I'll try to connect.

Hey that sounds like a volunteer! :p

We haven't gotten a network game working, yet, because everyone who has tried to host has a firewall or router. If you have neither of those it would be great if you could try to create a server with "FOFC" in the text and let us know when it's ready.

Fun stuff. I suck something fierce. I love the fact that they fill the field with robot cars if there are less than max real players.

They've come a long way with this.

Do you get lifetime upgrades if you buy it?

I haven't downloaded the new version, but if it's at all similar to the old one, I'd recommend trying the "Antislider" car -- much easier to control. :)

If I can ever get around to downloading the new version, and being around when you guys are, I'd love to get back into this -- it was a blast before.

It may be because of that...I disabled the firewall to set up the server so that shouldn't be the issue.

You may need to reboot with the firewall disabled, mine did that for a long time till I quit using one.

There is a server running called TERRA which has 3 new cars but the same old 3 tracks. Its been fun running on there with some other players that run there. I'll be there if anyone's around.
