Somewhat a tangent. In the "Middle East - What's Next" thread I asked if there were any financial advisors willing to give advice on what to do.

Seriously, I'm just coming back from the Recession and 9/11. I would hate WWIII to screw up what I've recovered.

The question is: Should I plan for a recession/depression/large-pullback and move all mutual funds into cash and wait it out, or keep my funds as-is? I have approx 60-40 in US-International funds (ex. China, Asia and not Middle East)

Switch Mutual Funds? Mine has been going gangbusters since 2001. Same with the stock fund (over 9% this year alone, through today's closing).

Care to share the name of the Mutual Fund?

Vanguard, of course. I think the fund is Admiral Treasury or something like that. I'm not a financial expert by any means so don't take this as a recommendation. No way your mutual funds should be "tanking" now.

Buccaneer. Yes, I think I am still in positive territory year-to-date. But if you were to compare your mutual fund from a month ago, it is probably off its high (and heading down). Thanks for the tip, I'll read up on Admiral Treasury this weekend.

Bulls make money, Bears make money, PIGS GET SLAUGHTERED!

(No advice really, I just love that show even though I really don't understand the market that much yet.)

Off from a month ago and heading down? Oh no. We've had this for over 10 years, we've seen many ups and downs. From what I've seen, Vanguard has dozens of funds.

On the positive side, if WW3 breaks out the odds are you won't have to worry too much about those retirement funds.
