I have just hit the money in a $3 PartyPoker tourney. It's Tourney #764209 and I'm at table 6.

I have a below average chip stack at the moment, though.

Ok so we are at the 4th break. I have 178k in chips which is good for 13 out of 87 left. Average stack is 107k. Blinds are 3k/6k with 300 antes. So with an M of 17 I still have some room to play some poker.

What is an 'M'?

It's a theory espoused by Dan Harrington in the Harrington on Hold Em series of books.

Basically divide your stack by the amount of chips it takes to play around (15K/30K +9x the 1500 ante, or 58500 right now), and modify your play based on the result.

The lower you are, the less tactical options you have
