The US government has a series of 4 islands formally used with weapons testing for sale. It has an airstrip and golf course.

I wonder what kind of rich person would bid on this.

Meh. Since it's the US Gov't doing the selling, if I could declare myself a sovereign nation and set myself up as its monarch, I'd buy the islands. Otherwise, I'd be just another member of the idle rich with an island. :D
