*CRAZY* QB Numbers This Season

My SP QB just put up these numbers:

271 for 463 (58.5%), 4673 yards, 49 TD's, 16 INT's, 113.7 QB Rating.

Yes, he led the league in passing yards AND TD passes, despite the fact that our team was dead last in the league with only 463 pass attempts. Talk about efficient! :eek:

Oh, and each of his best three receivers had 12 Td's or better. Nice!

Oh again. All this was done while leading the league with 576 rushing attempts for 2589 yards.

I had to go back and check out my SP mini-dynasty about a QB that was throwing up some crazy numbers. And yeah, your guy is blowing QB Skip Smolka (http://www.operationsports.com/fofc/showthread.php?t=36920&highlight=skip+smolka) out of the water with the individual season.

And with the rushing numbers...good Lord, either your entire offense/team was off the charts good or you're gameplan was outstanding.

We'll see how this works out in 2011 (CFL) and 2012 (IHOF). I'm very curious to find out myself.

251 for 455, 4258 yards, 44 TD's, 14 INT's, 106.4 QB Rating. He led the league again in passing yards and TD passes. This time we were 31st in pass attempts. The team rushing was quite a bit better: 616 carries, 2756 yards, 4.47 yards per carry. (1st, 1st, 3rd).

He was the number 1 pick up the draft... I was sitting at 3 and was in need of a franchise QB and was content with letting either Seth or the other guy fall to me. However after free agency I had a change of heart and traded my pick along with a future 1 and a pair of two's for the top pick. He was rated as 30/83 as a rookie eventually getting up to I believe 91/91.

He won 10 super bowls with the most being 4 straight.

His first few seasons he had an interception problem because he was not that good at throwing very long passes. After I changed the offense to be more short and med range he blossomed into a stud. Toward the end of his career I was able to get two solid WR's who allowed us to win four straight super bowls.

475 of 672 (70.7% completions), 4372 yards, 28 TDs, 9 interceptions (passer rating 96.4) - sacked only 21 times despite the large number of attempts

He put up these numbers despite having a patched-up offensive line that was missing our star rookie LT for 12 games (with most of the remaining starts going to a street free agent LT) and a receving corps that had one player remaining from the previous season and had rookies at split end and slot receiver...

Skydog's QB irks me because of his completion percentage. It might be because I grew up in a west coast/spread offense where the QB had to throw atleast 60%(this would still get the OC pissed cause he wanted 65%)

Anything under 60% seems odd to me. However I think Skydog attacks the med and long range alittle bit more then I do with my offense.

Bradshaw: 51.9%, 13.82 yards per completion...Pro Bowl years in '75 (57.7%), '78 (56.2%), 79 (54.9%)
Staubach: 57.0%, 13.47ypc...6 Pro Bowls, completion percentage in none of them was >59.7%
Sir Francis: 57.0%, 12.75ypc...9 Pro Bowls, completed 52.0% in one of those Pro Bowl years
Griese: 56.2%, 13.03ypc...8 Pro Bowls, inlcuding two with completion percentage <52.5
Joe Willie: 50.1%, 14.67ypc...5 Pro Bowls, including two in which he completed less than 50% of his passes


Compare these guys to more modern QBs, and it's easy to see the difference in how the passing game was used. Favre, for example, has completed 61.1% of his passes, with only 11.45ypc, though. My FOF offense is much more like those of the 70s and early 80s: running game, and downfield passing.
