View Full Version : FOF4: Redskins OPU Dynasty - A History

This will be my first dynasty in quite awhile, and my first FOF4 dynasty ever. I have had great success with "fan participation" in the past (yay bruce and others!), so I hope that this will be a success too.
I began the season with an OPU in 1987 and simmed ahead to 2002, based on some comments from Bee that this would give me relatively realistic salary numbers, but at the same time give atleast a somewhat mature league. I figured that the game would be enjoyable for myself and the rest of you if we knew a little about this history of the league, so this thread will be used to introduce you to the league, its teams, and its star players. Feel free to comment or ask for more info at any time.

Alf,
The consensus around the board is that the TCY players are over-inflated, making the game unbalanced, so unfortunately no :(... I would have loved to have used the Indiana VC files, but I don't want to throw things out of whack.. particuraly by starting it 15 years into the league.. i will be using TCY files (Indiana) for 2002 though, because I have no choise..
No, no, no ! The Indiana TCY VC files were for FOF2k1, the file I posted yesterday is a completely new TCY post 1.1 patch draft file made for FOF4. So using this one is OK, but the other Indian files would do you no good (plus, some were created post 1.0b patch and some post 1.1 patch)

Alf,
I was under the impression that any TCY files used in FOF4 produced inflated players? Is this incorrect?
No idea. I just received FOF4 yesterday. However, this seems to be QuikSand point of view on the subject (and I tend to believe him).

Empty
In Hindsight, this short of a period of time is not ideal for building a history, but I like that the salary cap is reasonable..

There are two of the star players. One the greatest of all time, one in his prime.. I wanted to do more, but honestly, it's very time consuming.. So I will do some periodically, and any upon request...
This weekend I will do a big history on my team specifically, and then start the season..
Looking forward to the dynasty wade.
Are you going to play this realistically and overpay for aging stars the first couple seasons? ;)

Hahaha... That would be funny if I did.. I might consider some curves like that actually, would be fun... perhaps I pay extra for a high fan favorite for an opposiing team (preferably in the division) who is a future hall of famer on the decline? :)
Be sure to pay a big fat bonus and we'll see if he retires after one season. :D
