A few poker celebrities are apparently attached to this event coming up in December:

Seems it will feature poker "teams" from a number of cities, in some sort of structured competition.

I was recently contacted by the person charged with assembling Team Baltimore, and I may have a shot to go and play. They are running tryouts in the coming months, but there may be some exemption possibilities in the (rather likely) event that I don't qualify on my own in the play-in events. Steve Dannenman is apparently going to be part of Team Baltimore (no shock).

In any event... anyone else hearing rumblings about this in your local live games? (Does *anyone* else even play in local live games?)

I don't play local live games and have heard nothing about this.

But congrats on getting contacted.

I make it down to local card rooms a couple of times a month. Haven't seen anything on this yet. It looks like the "Hollywood" team will be just celebrities, but there is also a Los Angeles team and an Orange County team. I would assume they could fill the teams with local well known players on the card room circuit or they could have qualifiers at one of the major card rooms.
