While other so-called 'super' powers are worrying about the proliferation of nuclear weapons, the War against Terror or the highly volatile oil prices, England (part of a union called GREAT Britain, not rubbish Britain) concerns itself with life's true problems...

Bigger than the 'Which came first?' question, English scientists have finally solved the major egg related debate - how do you know when an egg is cooked exactly how you like it?

After years of experiments, putting aside stem cell research, wind power development and even recycling initiatives, we have developed the technology to tell when an egg (in it's unfortunately non-transparent shell) is soft, medium or hard boiled inside and will update you in real time with it's temperature sensitive thermocromic print (no less) as it progresses!

Genius I tell you, and only here in good old England would people be bothered enough or dedicated enough to come up with this groundbreaking food revolution. Makes you want to open up your front door and bellow at the top of your voice 'Rule Britannia', thumping your chest and saluting the Queen!

England, the World Cup is forgotten, your glory has returned!

It gets better - apparently an Irish student (but in an English University) has independently come up with a separate system - this is the English equivalent of the Race for the Moon - heady days indeed!

So, why should solely the English take credit for this invention, since the article does not make it clear as to which part (if any) of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland the inventor actually comes from? :p

Actually, it doesn't matter to me--if the English want to take credit for thermochromatic ink, that's fine with me...

Whenever I watch the English Premiere League on FSC or see one of Jamie Oliver's cookings shows I get really homesick. I've never even been to England. I've considered asking Eaglesfan27 what the hell is wrong with me.
