View Full Version : Having a little surgery tomorrow

I injured my back at work a couple months ago. I'm going in tomorrow to have a discectomy performed on a herniated L3-L4. I had a similar procedure done 4 years ago today on L5-S1. Hopefully, since it's at 11am, i'll be able to come home tomorrow night, but we'll see. Man, i have endured a lot of low back and leg pain the last 2 months, and i'm glad to be getting it fixed so soon. (Last time it took a year for the ins. co. to authorize the surgery)

If, for some ungodly reason, something goes badly, it was great communicating with all of you the last few years. I'm pretty nervous, although i'm sure deep down that everything will be fine. It's just scary thinking about being put under and not coming back. :(

A "discectomy" sounds like a disc removal, no? I had a similiar operation once - the doctor performed a "total cashectomy" on me.

When your spine is being operated on, there's no such thing as "a little surgery."

Kind of like 'minor groin surgery." Doesn't exist.

Just got home, had to spend the night, grrrrr. It went fine. Man, it hurts bad thought. Thanks for all the well wishes. =)

I miss you too, bro. Just too many damn house rules to keep up on. Hopefully when FOF 07 comes out, Jim will have fixed that shit and we can just play the game out of the box without worrying about making all these rules. If that is the case, I'll try to get back into the eNFL.

Glad it went well. I got "another" surgery a week today. I just wish I didn't have to fly to another city/state for it.

This was my 2nd back surgery in 4 yrs. I don't remember the pain being this bad afterwards. Imagine trying to get out of bed, but you physically cannot, because your body can't support itself. It's hell. Hopefully the next week goes quickly.

Yeah, I realized I misspelled it after I typed it. For some reason, my keyboard doesn't record my letters when I don't hit the keys hard enough.

But this will be my fourth surgery in just under two years ago with my surgeron (s).

My laptop keyboard does the same thing. I just thought it was one of the funnier typos I've seen.
