75% of purchasers will be video game stores.
The other 25% will be kids who approve it to go to their parents TV bill without knowledge.

What's wrong with preorder?
The night that games usually come out, my wife is usually out of the house at her Dad's so, if there is a game I'm interested in I'll preorder it just so I have it that night.. otherwise I'm waiting 2-3 days for it to appear at Target or Wally world...
Although.. pre-order from me usually consists of ordering 4 or 5 days before it comes out and not 4 or 5 months....

I don't know, just seems fairly silly to me. Like the people camping out for the XBox.
I guess you really need to yearn for games to have an appreciation for the preorder. If that's the case it's a great thing I guess.

Saw this post from someone who saw the PPV preview today at his work (i.e. a game store):
Now let me say I don't know of ANYONE who is willing to drop the $20 plus on the Madden PPV, but I watched the trailer and had a chuckle at the comment by one of the "pros":
"I'll show you the money plays you need to compete"
Money plays? Shouldn't EA look at those plays and code them out right off the bat? We don't need to encourage that kind of behavior, right?
The trailer was pure trash, but had it's humor moments (the above and the pimply faced kid discussing the merits of "trash talking"). Embarassing none the less...

EA has always supported money plays. In one of the early NHL games (I think '94 or '95) they actually included cards inside where they named them and showed you how to do them. I specifically remember "The Reverse Brook" being particularly effective.
