Game will start next Monday. Rules etc. will be posted soon - they are basically ready to go. This will be a very SIMPLE game, basically just villagers and wolves. It will be an excellent game for beginners, I hope. I'd like to get at least 14 players.

1. Anxiety - killed by Count Dracula Night 4, villager
2. Chubby - staked, day 2, villager
3. Swaggs - killed, night 6 villager
4. tanglewood - Dr. Reimann
5. GoldenEagle - killed, night 3 villager
6. Alan T - killed, night 2, villager
7. Chief Rum - wolf
8. Lathum - staked, day 3, villager
9. Blade - staked, day 4, villager
10. Bulletsponge - wolf
11. molson - staked, day 7 villager
12. path12 - killed, night 4 villager
13. fouts - killed by Frankenstein's monster, night 3 villager
14. greyroofoo - killed, night 5 COUNT DRACULA
15. farrah - staked, day 5 villager
16. sndvls - villager
17. Barkeep - staked, day 8 villager
18. noddadropp - staked, Day 1 villager
19. dodgerchick - killed, night 7 mason
20. daddytorgo - killed, night 8 villager
21. grammaticus - staked, Day 6 mason
22. saldana - killed, Night 1 villager

Has the Curse returned? Your village, seemimgly free from the ravages of the past, when it was haunted by vampires, werewolves, and the devilish Dr. Frankenstein, has once again become a frightful place. Corpses of dogs and sheep have been discovered - in some cases, skinned and disemboweled. Several of your cattle have been found exsanguinated, as well. Could this be the work of Count Dracula, long thought dead? Or have the werewolves, which in generations past plagued your village, returned?

News has reached your village that the insane Doctor Reimann has escaped the asylum where he was confined; quickly you organize your defenses, blocking the roads and posting a watch. Now, nobody can get in or out of your village.

You awake the next day to discover that, despite your precautions, Death has visited your village with violence; st.cronin has been discovered, in his home, torn to pieces. You look around, fear in your heart, paranoia in your eyes. Could the wolves be back? Is Dr. Reimann hiding amongst you, contributing to the mayhem in some way? And what of Count Dracula - could he have returned as well?

Rules: Everybody is presumed a villager. It is not known how many wolves are hiding in your midst. Each day you will vote on one suspect - the lucky winner will have a stake driven through their heart, and will no longer be playing the game. Villagers win when all wolves and Count Dracula have been staked or otherwise eliminated. Wolves and their allies win when the ratio of wolves to humans is 1:1. Each day will end at 9pm Eastern time, which is 7pm my time. Votes cast at 9:01 Eastern time or later will not count. Votes must be in bold. Night actions will be due by 9:00am Eastern time.

Villager Roles:

Villager - no special abilities.
Masons - have seen each other at mason meetings, and know they are not guilty of any crimes. Tie votes will be broken by the masons, without revealing their identity. No pm capabilities, and if they reveal that they are a mason, they will die a horrible death.

Wolf Roles:

Wolf - no special abilities. Do not know who their allies are, and have no way of finding out. The wolves must kill one and only one player per night.
Dr. Reimann - Doctor Reimann has unleashed the pack of wolves and the vampire upon your village. He does not know any player's role at the start of the game, but each night he may test one player's blood, to determine what species that player is. Also, once in the game he can change the result of the vote without revealing his identity by swapping out one player for another. Finally, after night 2, he can summon the Frankenstein monster once to kill whomever he wishes. Counts as a human in determining victory.
Count Dracula - does not know who the wolves are, or who Dr. Reimann is. Gets one night kill in the game. Counts as a wolf in determining victory.

But it's so simple. All I have to do is divine from what I know of you: Are you the sort of man who would put the poison into his own goblet or his enemies? Now, a clever man would put the poison into his own goblet because he would know that only a great fool would reach for what he was given. I am not a great fool so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of you. But you must have known I was not a great fool--you would have counted on it--so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of me!

GoldenEagle, there is basically one concept, depending on what team you are on:

Good guy - figure out who is a bad guy, and get enough people to vote for him. You can either be a leader (try to do the detective work) or a follower (listen to someone else) in this process.

Bad guy - you know who the other bad guys are, so get the good guys to vote for anyone but the bad guys. Again, you can either be vocal in messing with people or just sit back and let them mess up on their own.

Again, it is more complex than this. The rules for each game are different, and provide some kind of framework for how you detect your enemies or fool your enemies. As you play more of these games, you begin to realize who are the biggest liars are at FOFC. And you tend to vote for them first in the next game you play.

Schmidty, maybe you can contact st. cronin and see if he has a role for a limited availability player? Or can put you someplace where being able to participate less won't be as much of an issue. He did say this would be a simpler game.

Heres a very general idea.

Generally, there is a group of 15-20 players. Of those, generally 3 belong to a faction known as Warewolves. It is the objective of those 3 to get to a 1-1 ratio with the other 12-17 players. Sounds hard, but the evil side wins more often then not. They have certain advantages, such as knowing eachothers identities and being able to talk freely by PM(or aim, if preferable). The 12-17, or the villagers, do not know each other, and cannot speak to each other outside of the thread. Every day there is a lynch based off of majority votes wins, and every night the bad guys get to kill a villager(so if we dont kill a bad guy during lynch, basically we lose 2 good guys a day). Cycle goes day-night-day-night. So basically, it is the objective of the wolves to lie and cheat their way to victory by earning then betraying the villagers trust at the most opportune times.

The good have roles to help them as well though, such as a seer who every night can learn a players role, a bodyguard who can protect 1 person every night from night kill, and a duke who once a game can change the lynch victim to whomever he choses.

Basically, trust no one and always keep your victory condition in mind. And when i say trust no one, i mean except me obviously.

Hope you followed along somewhat. The complex games can vary from this, but its a pretty solid basis for this particular game.

Just been delayed a bit. St.cronin hasnt been around. Usually if this happens, we give them a little time and if they do not show up we'll likely have someone else run a game and let St.cronin have a chance when he's back.

Hopefully he'll show up this week, this looks like it will be fun with all the new people.

has anyone heard from cronin???

if he doesnt appear by the end of the week, if people would like, since there are so many people signed up expecting a simple basic game, i would be able to drop out of the game and run it as such, starting sunday night for night 0, and we can maybe just drop cronin to the next game in the order...

i dont want to piss anyone off, just trying to help since we dont know what the deal is right now, so please everyone, let me know if we all think this is a good idea or not.

I'm down with that.

Just that it was the 11th vote cast. Sometimes when there is a lot of unvoting and re-voting, it helps to see who voted in what order. Hoopsguy will often include the post number which does the same thing and is sometimes easier to do.

My god, i might actually survive day 1! The WW gods must see fit to end my purgatory!

Although, granted, i was tied for the lynch with 15 minutes to go, so i was still close. Thank you kindly saldana and sndvls, as yet again im not quite sure why i was up for lynch.

Will this be your first day 1 to survive?

No, but i think i hold the record for most day 1 lynchings. Last game, day 1...game before that, im not sure, but it was nice and early. Im on a bit of a early dead streak, despite not being bad for like 8 games or so.

It is a long, anxious day of deliberations and accusations. Old grudges are trotted out, and new ones made. In the end, being from Utah is enough for most of you, and Noddadrop is dragged to the village square for staking. Hardly a whiimper does he give, as your four strongest pin him to the ground and pound a stake through his living heart. Blood spurts, covering you - but alas, you have chosen wrongly, for Noddadrop was a mere villager. A search of his home turns up no clues. Fear and paranoia close around you as the sun sets. Will you be safe tonight? Or will the wolves strike again?

Night 1 has begun ... deadline 9am Eastern time

that was essentially unavoidable, but he added nothing to this point, and every other player was here at some point...easy choice for me.

Usually the day 1 person who didnt show up is most of the time not a wolf. I went with Gram because he seemed eager to try to force a day 1 tie, and he has taken the "overeager helpful wolf" type role so far today from what i can see.

Its just a day 1 vote, probably nothing much to it and my opinions will change tommorrow. Just voted based on the person who seemed most sneaky based on the little info we did have.

It's possible I may be a couple of hours late in the morning processing the night. Of course, if everybody gets their night actions in quickly, I can process right away. Also, unless there are objections, I think I am going to make the Daytime deadline 8:30 pm from here on out.

He added one to our ratio of villagers to wolves. That is nothing to shrug off. If it was obvious he was a villager, why take him on day one?

How was it obvious? I didn't vote for him, but I understand lynching people who add nothing to help the villagers.

I think most people would rather kill off a non-helpful villager then take a random shot and kill someone who could be far more useful, be it by role or just their play style.

How is generating activity a overeager wolf type role? For the wolves it is best to have as little info possilbe out there to go on. So when it is quite and there is low activity, it helps the wolves. By laying up a tie we got to see who moved and where.

Bear in mind I'm pretty sure that Noddadrop's most recent post was before roles had been sent out. He could have been a wolf and not known it.

By not showing up and not appearing in the thread, he was very unlikely a wolf. Nothing is for sure, but to be a wolf and not even check the thread would be iron discipline.

Really, if you were pretty sure someone was a villager but generally not very helpful in your eyes, you would rather take them than a shot at a wolf?

See post 240
"By laying up a tie we got to see who moved and where."

You saw Sndvls move off Blade and tag chief rum. Then you saw Saldana move to Chief rum quickly after that. Then you saw Tanglewood pile on cheif rum. That will all mean something over time.

Specifically why did Saldana and tanglewood make the move when they did not need too?

Grammaticus

Day one votes are not useless. Especially if you have a wolf on the ropes. I switched to Alant simply because he voted for me and the Blade vote was not affective as the others piled on chief rum.

Back to wolves on the ropes. In this game, it appears there are a small number of wolves. Usually the villagers have some special roles to assist them. The 2 most notorious are seer and bodyguard. It appears we just have masons who can only break a tie. Based on the weakness of the villager roles, I am guessing we don't have many wolves. That means if one of them were in trouble or had a few votes, movement might occur to protect that wolf.

It is really hard to tell at this point. But a few days from now, what happened today, might have a big impact, versus a day one full of nothing.
