Wow.........And I thought this was a football forum.
Seriously, I'm excited. Don't let anyone tell you that preseason doesn't count. This time of year is like Christmas, New Year's and Birthday all wrapped up in one big, pretty, sexy, slobbering package.

I think, as a prelude to the season, we need an NFL Offseason / Training Camp in Pictures.

Seven games on the schedule tonight. I think Fox has the national game at 8, Colts/Rams.

Predictions for playoff teams?
AFC
North: Cincinatti
East: New England
South: Indianapolis
West: Denver
WC: Miami
WC: San Diego
NFC
North: Detroit
East: Dallas
South:Tampa Bay
West: Arizona
WC: Philidelphia
WC: Atlanta
Yep, I predict both Super Bowl teams to miss out.

The same as last year, Arizona won't live up to their billing because of their offensive line. Barring massive injuries to the Seahawks, they take the division again.
As for my predictions:
AFC
East: New England
North: Pittsburgh
South: Indianapolis
West: Denver
WC: Cincinnati
WC: San Diego
NFC
East: Washington
North: Chicago
South:Carolina
West: Seattle
WC: Philadelphia
WC: Tampa Bay

I'm actually somewhat excited about going to the Lions game tonight. Should be interesting to see an offense that throws the ball more than 3 yards downfield.

yes it is only preseason
yes it was only a half
but damn, that is the most impressive 30 minutes of football I have seen out a Niner team in at least 5 years, and it is not like it was against some other bottom feeding team.

Nope, he's still unsigned. I was really curious why they would risk playing Kurt Warner as long as they did. He's relatively fragile. If he goes down, who do they go with? John Navarre? Ugh.

Reggie Bush just had his first "Reggie Bush like" run in the NFL. A third down run where he completely reversed his field on an NFL D(all be it a preseason one) for a 44 yard gain.

I think I may have another team to root for - the Saints, along with rooting against the Titans. Still undecided about the Cowboys though. Falcons may come off of my hate list, but not too far, depending how blather there is about them here. Still will hate the Raiders. Go Bolts, Pats, Bucs and dare I say it? Go Cards.

Suggs Fails Physical, Headed Back to Cleveland
Email this Story
Aug 15, 12:56 PM (ET)
By ANDREA ADELSON
HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (AP) - Running back Lee Suggs failed his physical with the New York Jets on Tuesday, voiding his trade from Cleveland.
Suggs, who has had a myriad of injuries throughout his four-year career, was brought in to help bolster the group of backs struggling without the injured Curtis Martin. Now, he is headed back to the Browns. Cornerback Derrick Strait, who was sent to Cleveland in the deal made Monday, returns to New York.
"We have a whole series of tests that we do, and we were very thorough with the process," Jets coach Eric Mangini said. "He just didn't pass those tests. ... Each team has a criteria they set up that they believe is what's important and what's needed to be competitive. I'm very comfortable with the tests we have set up."
With Martin unable to practice because of a lingering right knee injury, the Jets needed depth at the position. Derrick Blaylock and Cedric Houston are taking the majority of snaps, but are not the type of backs to shoulder the load.
The 33-year-old Martin, who is No. 4 on the all-time rushing list, continues to rehab and his future is in doubt. Though Martin wants to play this season, it is unclear whether he will be able to. It has been eight months since he had surgery on his knee.
Suggs hasn't been able to stay on the field for the Browns, who selected him in the fourth round of the 2003 draft. At various times in his pro career, Suggs has been sidelined by injuries to a shoulder, neck, toe, ankle and thumb.
Mangini declined to say what part of the physical Suggs failed.
"It's just standard operating procedure. You go through a trade, you have to go through the complete process," Mangini said. "This is part of the process. Lee has done a good job in Cleveland, he's a good person and that's part of the reason we pursued him. I really think the opportunity was good for both players and both teams. I wish Lee well, and I look forward to Derrick getting back here and getting to work."
Mangini also declined to give a timetable for Martin's return, and said the trade had no bearing on the future of the running back.
"We were looking at it as an opportunity to improve the competition at the position," Mangini said. "Our goal is to increase competition and to make our team that much more competitive and improve the team where we can."
He also didn't rule out future deals to bring in another running back.
"It's fair to assume that there could be a lot of moves," Mangini said. "The moves are going to be predicated on the opportunities, and the opportunities are going to based on whether that move can improve the team."
The speedy 6-foot, 213-pound Suggs appeared in only seven games as a rookie because of a shoulder injury he sustained at Virginia Tech. Suggs won a starting job in training camp in 2004, but hurt his neck in the final preseason game and was inactive for the first three games of the regular season. He returned to play in seven games before missing three straight with a toe injury.
Suggs hurt his ankle during the preseason last year and missed Cleveland's first two games. He dressed in Weeks 3 and 4, but injured his thumb and was inactive for six weeks.
Suggs has rushed for 1,048 yards and four TDs as a pro.

After losing their third center of the pre-season, I'm beginning to think playing center for Cleveland is a lot like wearing the proverbial red sweater in a Star Trek episode. You see him take the practice field, and you know he's going to be gone by the end of the week. I would not want to be Russ Tucker right now.
Meanwhile, Koren Robinson. Sigh. I like the guy, too, but what an asshat move.

Nice to see Bill Parcells sitting T.O this week since he hasn't practiced enough. Hopefully, T.O. can continue to do more damage to the team chemisty of the Cowboys.

This is the first time I've really seen Senica Wallace play extensively in the pro's - this guy is WAY too small to be a successful NFL QB in my opinion. He looks like he's about 5'9 out there. I can't believe a team this close to winning a championship has him as their backup QB.

Keep watching. There's a reason that they didn't go through with the idea of using Seneca more as a return man and receiver, and that's because they couldn't find somebody to fill the backup QB position better than, or close enough to as well as what he's doing right now for them to be happy.
He's taken a path very similar to Hasselbeck in the sense that he's really starting to understand and grasp the offense which is very obvious in his play on the field. His improvement from 2 years ago is huge, and the secondary reason that they weren't worried about losing Dilfer (the primary being that Hasselbeck had grown to the point where they didn't really need a big brother figure behind him on the roster).
While I think Hass is one of the top 6 QB's in the league and should have a Pro Bowl season, if he were (knock on wood) to go down for any extended period of time, I have the utmost confidence that Wallace could do what was necessary to get this team to the playoffs.
