Ever since Abe's top 30 video games thread I have been on this nostalgic binge that I just can't seem to get away from. Wiki has been a great help to me in this quest. As soon as some new idea or memory pops into my head I'm quickly and easily able to completely refresh my memory as well as find out any new developments. My latest find? All of the Lone Wolf books are now available for free online! You can either download or play through each book online and these online versions include hyperlinks as well as a program called StatKeeper which helps to ease the management of your character. Very Cool! Apparently the author Joe Devers has given his consent to the project and everything is kosher.
For those here not familiar with the series it is basically a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure type of book with some reole playing elements thrown in. For example, your character has an inventory, hp, etc and also gets to choose a new skill at the completion of each book. There were other similar series available as well, (I remember reading through a couple of the "Freeway Warrior" series also written by Joe Dever) but I can remember Lone Wolf as being my introduction to the genre and how much it sucked me in at the time. The online project also contains works from the UK that were never published in the US as well as the unabridged versions of some works that were crippled by the US publishers. Enjoy!
