View Full Version : Help with verifying a movie's existence needed!

I got into a discussion the other day with this one girl about Michelle Trachtenberg for some reason and it led to Harriet the Spy, the 1996 flick she starred in.

I asked her if she'd seen the earlier movie version.

She said she never heard of it.

I swear there was an earlier version in the 80s, where this really red-haired, really freckled girl with kind of a chubby face played Harriet. It may have been a made for TV movie, but I'm not sure.

imdb.com turned up nothing, but I can still remember seeing it.

You guys have any ideas?

Well it didn't show up on IMDB, Wikipedia, or a web search, so if it existed, it must have been extremely obscure.

It was a made for TV movie in 1976. I can't find much information on it though, just stuff like this: http://movies2.nytimes.com/gst/movies/movie.html?v_id=126079

that has the title but no information about the film itself.
