I plan on re-trying it tonight.
On the first try, I felt this game had both the potential to be great and also the uncanny ability of making each stage look boring...

I have checked out some boards that were trying to fix the flaws, and they aren't even playing it anymore. It was $40 picked from our pockets, is what it was. The developers should be arrested.

Not playing it anymore. Just too many problems that even great modders like Cwill could not fix. I'll force myself to wait on buying the next version until I hear good reviews.

It's still going for around 25 shipped on Ebay..if you want to sell, i'd dump sooner than later.

I have it, haven't played it since the first night I bought it...

Honestly, to many other games out there, are just a bit more fun.

Oh, and paying a dentist for tooth extraction is as well...

Same here. I might dump it onto eBay also. I've bought my share of bad or incomplete computer games, but NFL Head Coach goes down as the worst game purchase I've made since, well, maybe ever. I cringe whenever I see the box or the CD sitting near my computer. What a waste. :(

I bought it because it was right up there with a game concept I have had for years, but it failed miserably at even coming close to the hype that was placed upon it.

For me, it would be fun, but it is just to mind numbing in a lot of areas.

Eaglefan27 has got a bite on a new one.. Petramco Corp. Out of, uh, Springfield. I think. They're about to introduce some sort of robot butcher. If you want to get in - there's very little time.

I know I did. I was excited for the game, this was a concept I've wanted for years since FBPro. The execution just didn't work. There are parts of the game that are done well, but too many areas that aren't.

okay, I try not to pick on you too much but, but, where did that come from? I mean, was EF27 the only guy who was stoked about this game? Did he have any inside info where he actually said "Hey guys, this dude working for EA told me this and that and it's gonna be awesome!!!" or did he just go with screenshots and game specs and said "wow, I think I would really like a game like that, wouldn't you?"...

I bought Football Pro '99, too, by the way. I just don't consider that my worst gaming purchase because I was actually able to return that game to the store for a refund. :)

Mix in EA and Joe Stallings, a sports sim management idea, shake and stir till unrecognizable, and you have NFL Head Coach. I would say the end product doesn't surprise me in the least. :)

If it had been done right instead of the steaming pile it was, I would have played it year-round.

I have uninstalled it from my computer and don't plan on ever firing it up again, what a total disappointment

I wasn't impressed with the demo at all in the first place, and then I ended up not buying it, thanks to you guys. :)

I hope EA does a 2nd version, but I'm very skeptic about it.

Umm, I'm as quick to pile on as anyone... but this was funny. Read the quote again, and pretend it wasn't jbmagic who posted it. Funny! Realize it was Thepostersometimesknownasjbmagic, and it becomes fodder. Whatever, I laughed out loud anyway.

Cwill put up a file that allows you to edit the length of quarters, and a wide variety of sliders. Unfortunately, that still doesn't fix many other flaws (such as ridiculous simulated stats for other teams in a season.)

I doubt it. When is the last time you watched a comercial for it?

I can't seem to remember any commercials post realease. A ton of ads prerelease none after is not a good sign of things to come.

The game should be scrapped, it was a joke. However, I'd love to see a few of the features they had in roster management plugged into Madden in the coming years.

I easily won the superbowl with the Lions in my first season without any major signings or trades (but drafting Vince Young in the first round) and I only lost 2 games during the regular season, which were the first game against the Seahawks and the Thanksgiving game which I was screwed on since they don't let you practice during the shortened weak. I even had Kevin Jones injured the last couple games of the playoffs and still won with Shawn Bryson as my feature back. I stopped playing after that.

Besides being rather boring, too time consuming for each season, and repetitious, its way too easy. The draft is great though, so long as they get rid of limiting the amount of trade offers you can make during the draft. Madden should adopt Head Coach's draft.

Pretty much my thoughts. The draft was a blast, the offseason was also fun as well, but the season itself just sucked all the fun out of the game. I could not even make it through the 1st season.:(



They just need to add some more "let your coaches handle THIS" option. And, why couldn't they speak the players name during the draft. They should of had Kiper sit down one day and just start recording names. I want to hear "with the second pick in the draft the Saints select runningback Reggie Bush".

I did and the bad thing is my daughter has to wear last years school shoes (her toes stick out) because I had no intension of buying this game until EF PM'd me over and over again about how close it was to FPS Fooball '97.

I went to Walmart and tried to trade it in on shoes. They laughed at me and I ran out the door.

If I ever see EF, that asswhite and me are going to brawl!
