...how do you order your PK shooters in a penalty kick shootout? Say your top 5 guys go 19, 18, 17, 14, 12 (and the 6th guy is 10). How would you order them?

call me stupid but I order them best to worse. I've not found a way to tell me that this 19 pk player is a nervous wreck and will not be able to kick first, so why would I put him elsewhere than first? I want to make the other nervous by scoring first, not playing catch up with a goal in the 2nd or 3rd slot after we've missed one or maybe even two...

Normally i rank them best to worst in the penalty stat, but recently ive found that my star middie, Jorge Valvidia, always misses, and my star free kick taker, Davide Chiumiento, always score...so i moveddavide up to 1 and horge off the list

I always order them best to worst as well. However, I usually don't win PKs.

My best guy takes the third kick. My second and third best guys take the 1 and 2. The other two spot are for my worst.

Funny, that's how I do it also.

You have to consider the mental attributes as well, but I just do best to worst.

When doing a penalty shoot-out bear in mind that pressure is always immense on such things (so a players ability to handle pressure is very important, consider the maturity of players a bonus in this regard - it might not be the time to ask your 18 yr old striker to take one ;) ) also bear in mind the potential situation, ie. a 4th or 5th penalty take is likely to be shooting to either win (or lose) a match and thus needs to be especially stable.

Generally I put my best chap first, then 2nd/3rd are good penalty takes but potentially mentally weaker (as hopefully the first chap has scored and we're in at least an ok situation) and then my strongest people (mentally) in the later positions ...

I put my 17 year old D-mid in the 5th spot. he hasn't failed me yet :)

You're a brave man ...

Oh final rule, if you're the England international manager just give up and take your players off the pitch before it starts - we're useless at penalty shootouts ;)

I, too, do it (from first to last)... #3, #2, #1, #4, #5.

I don't seem to do very well at all in penalty shootouts, though...

Composure is another attribute I look at.

I do it this way too. Looking at it from a mathematical point of view, the first three kicks are guarenteed to be taken, so you obviously want your best three in those positions. However, the kicks increase in pressure and importance from 1-3, so I want my best guy taking third. At least, that's how I've always figured it out, no idea if it's the right way or not.
