Not sure why I was thinking about this but has anyone ever seen a superhero go to the bathroom either in the comics or movies? Or even alluding to using the bathroom? I can't think of an instance. Maybe they all have super bladders.

Those tights aren't just for looks. They are multi-faceted.

Super absorption?

I'll give Aquaman a pass. We all know he'd just urinate while in the water.

I saw The Phantom Limb use the restroom on the Venture Brothers just last week.

I have no idea what any of that is but I'll take your word for it.

The Phantom Limb is a way better name than I was going to come up with. I'd be The Urinator.

It's not just superheroes, dude. It doesn't happen in either film or comics (superhero or no) unless the potential for wacky hijinks is present.

You'd think once in a while one would be on the can when needed.

Season 6 of "24" is gonna feature Jack Bauer having a severe case of diarrhea and for three straight episodes he is sitting on the toilet.

Excellent point. You are telling me that for all the characters in 24 not a single one drops a duece in that 24 hour period?

Yes, I have seen superheroes alluding to using the bathroom. Rorschach did so in "The Watchmen." Even though he didn't actually use the bathroom (he actually went in there to kill a guy), he did allude to needing to go to the bathroom.

In the "Preacher" comics, while not a superhero, Starr was shown taking a leak. He had to use some sort of valve contraption, however, since his equipment was torn off some how. I forget the particulars.

I'm sure there are others, they probably weren't all that memorable.

They do so off-screen. Not even Jack Bauer is on-screen for every second of 24. If you really would like to watch a movie about people using the bathroom (or where that is at least a central theme to the movie), I'm sure you can find them on the internets.

That's basically the idea, at least in film. It doesn't, generally speaking, add anything to the movie, and one imagines that there would be quite a few irate individuals if they went to see Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, and right before Sam and Frodo scale Mount Doom, Sam goes "Mister Frodo, hold up. I gotta tinkle somethin' awful," followed by ten minutes of hissing steam arising from the lava and Sam sighing with relief ("I ain't had time to tinkle since we left the Shire, Mister Frodo!").

The old B&W's have musical numbers so frequently partly because ten minutes in a set piece cut down on film costs and the expense of changing sets. While frequent urination might achieve the same thing, one suspects that the average filmgoer is much less likely to complain about Gene Kelly singin' in the rain than about Owen Wilson singing while he waters the rosebushes.

I think Juggernaut told Magneto he had to take a leak in X3...didn't he?

Much like nudity, today's cinema lacks gratuitous bathroom scenes and pointless urination.

The one time I met Mr. T, he didn't make any reference to the bathroom. From this, I assume that superheroes don't really go to the bathroom.

Since Season 5 already happened, I see that quite impossible.

Now season 6 maybe ;)

The Flash: ... You can't get art like that. You have to rent it or buy it outright. [knocks on bathroom door] Hey, Hulk! Hulk! Come on, you got a lot of people standin' out here in line. Come on!

The Hulk: [emerges from bathroom] All right, all right, take it easy!

[Lana, Antman and the Flash instantly react in horror to the awful smell that emerges with the Hulk.]

The Flash: Whoa! Whoa!

The Hulk: [annoyed at the reaction] Come on!

Lana Lang: Did something die in there? [She ignites her cigarette lighter and holds it to the door which the Flash shuts.]

The Hulk: Take it easy. It's not supposed to smell like roses. Come on.

The Flash: Light a blowtorch!

Superman was flying around and spotted Wonder Woman on the balcony nude getting a tan.

Superman said to himself "I want to hit that." I will fly down real fast and hit it.

So he goes down and does his business and there was a loud scream.

It was the Invincible Man screaming. :)
