This is awesome. First time I've gotten it. A whole game condensed down to 30 minutes. No BS, no delays, just the game.

I thought this was going to be about Chad Johnson giving out haircuts or something.

Speaking of which ... I channel surfed through the NFL Network highlights show (whatever it's called) last night just in time to hear Rich Eisen provide the best line of the weekend, something to the effect that "Chad Johnson narrowly missed being the victim of a MurderDeathKill" (spoken while they're showing him on the sidelines sans helmet after that big hit).

If that is true, that is freaking awesome (especially because Demolition Man was on TV this past weekend)

Is this is the DirecTV SuperFan thing, or something else? When do these air during the week? I tried to find them late last week one night when there was nothing on, but I couldn't find them. Are they only shown at the beginning of the week or something?

I've raved about these too. They are awesome. I'm watching every game that I don't watch live with these. They start airing at 12 midnight Sunday night/monday morning and they stop airing on Tuesday at midnight. They play on 732 and 733 I believe (somewhere around there for sure.) Oh yeah, they are part of the superfan package.

Thanks. I don't see why they can't show them all week. Decisions like that just make absolutely no sense. Those channels are dead air otherwise.

I was trying out the HD channels this weekend and saw this as well on TNT.

I don't get that decision either. I just record them all on my DVR, and watch them throughout the week.

FWIW, during my conversation with customer retention yesterday (I got back $310), the HR20-700 is now $300 instead of $400. They changed the price on September 12th.

I look forward to hearing from you and Saldana about how reliable the HR20-700 is. I've read some stories of bad experiences on the web (sound popping, pixelating visuals, etc.)
For now, I'm sticking with the HR10-250.

Wow, this is the 2nd demoltion man reference I have heard today on two completely unrelated topics on two completely unrelated message boards.

I still don't get this "feature." Tonight, there are only 2 shortcuts showing, and they aren't on until like 1:30am. What gives? I thought they showed every game all day on Monday, at least. Yet they haven't shown 1 all evening (not sure about during the day, since I was working). Are they not allowed to show them during the MNF game or something?

They're on channels 731 and 732. You have to have the Superfan package (which is another $99 and well worth it) in order to see them. They only show the Sunday early and late games; they don't show the Sunday night or Monday night games.

I have the Superfan package. I (attempted to) view these on channels 731 and 732. At least as of about 7pm last night, the only games they were showing were the Dolphins on one channel and the Vikings on the other, and neither of them started until 1:30am. I was just hoping to catch up on some of the games I missed on Sunday, but there were none available last night. So I continue to be confused about what kind of "service" this is. They should simply run continous loops of the 30-minute short-cuts on the original channels (704-716) that they showed the games on. Why restrict this to 2 games at a time, and then only in the middle of the night?
Again, maybe I'm missing something...? Were they on all-day Monday while I was asleep or at work and ended before MNF? If so, why?

NFL Replay is a pretty cool alternative to this if you get NFL Netowrk...

I haven't seen NFL Replay, but I have seen the commercials. Does NFL Network really only do 4 games with the NFL Replay, or do they show the rest of the games later in the week?

Yup, it's only 4 games.
I think it's designed to cater to the casual fans who say things like "I wouldn't mind seeing that awesome comeback by the Patriots that everyone's been talking about all week" Instead of the hard core fan who says things like "I really need an opportunity to see how David Carr on the 1-10 Texans reacted to the 0-11 Raider's pass rush whenever he had to take a 5 step drop on 2nd and long."
It's not bad for what it is--but it is not designed to be comprehensive like the shortcuts seem to be.

They're on right now and have been running different games since Monday morning. I'm not sure what you're seeing. Can you view the channel or do you get the message that the channel isn't ordered? If so, then I'd say that DirecTV probably messed up your Superfan order.

I'm at work right now, so I don't know if it's on. Last night when I viewed it, it came up blank like there was nothing on. No message in the corner saying it wasn't part of my service (and I watched games in HD on Sunday, so that shouldn't be the problem). The header on each channel listed the upcoming game and the time 1:30am-2:00am.

Hmmm...I didn't have any problem watching games right now nor recording the Raiders/Browns game and the upcoming Ravens game at 12:30. I'm not sure what the problem is then. Maybe call DirecTV?

I guess. When my wife gets home, I'm going to have her check it out. I was thinking maybe it had something to do with not watching those channels on the HDTV, but I don't think that's it, because I get the rest of the services on the other TVs (just not HD, of course). Bizarre.

FYI, I checked it out Tuesday night and they were running fine. I'm going to check again this coming Monday, but I think they might have shut them down during the MNF game for some reason. Maybe they've got an agreement with ESPN...?
