I'm so, so close to getting Pitt-Cin instead of Jets-Buffalo. Unfortunately, I don't have a Philly CBS like I have Philly Fox.

CBS really needed to get either pitt/cin or jax/indy games moved to 4pm. That would be a hell of a doubleheader.

The only 4:00pm game on CBS is a dog.. They aren't even trying to compete with Fox in that slot.
It's also interesting how Favre is shown down in Southern Mississppi.. This can't be the case when Saints games compete in the same time slot with Packer Games, can it?

I am so glad that I have Sunday Ticket. For some reason St. Louis only broadcasts Rams (obviously), Chiefs, Bears, and Colts games. That Colts/Texans matchup last weekend was a real masterpiece.

Oh and what's the deal with Balt/Clev in that tiny part of Texas and Florida? Was this discussed in an earlier thread? They are both AFC North and have no major stars so I can't figure this one out.

It's because there is a "Primary Local" team that has a 1pm game on the other network. That means that CBS must show them a 4pm this week. The only 4pm game is Balt/Clev.

2 out of 3 games for me this week are "national" -- better than usual so I'll certainly take it. Plus, I kind of like the Bills so even the CBS game isn't so bad.

I think those 2 (or whatever) counties in the very northern tip of the lower peninsula of Michigan is interesting.

Assuming that part of Southern Miss. is part of the Saints "Secondary Local" market, every Saints game has to be shown no matter what. However, it's probably not a "Primary Local" which means that were GB to be on CBS and the Saints on Fox (or vice-versa), the network with the GB game could elect to show it.
So yes, the Packers can be on at the same time as the Saints in Southern Miss. They just can't cause the Saints game to not be shown at all.

CBS isn't allowed to compete with them in that slot. They only have a single header this weekend.

I'm happy this week, as I should get the Steelers/Bengals, and then at 4pm draw the Browns/Ravens, since I have 2 different CBS's. Although I think there will be a ton of pissed off people in Youngstown either way, cause they will either get the Browns or the Steelers, but not both. Unless they are pulling in a Cleveland affiliate on that side of the state, which means I won't get the 4pm Ravens game.
Regardless, I just hope I don't get stuck watching the Giants/Seachickens at 4pm.

Steve, explain that to me if you would.. I realize that the two networks (CBS & Fox) alternate doubleheaders and single game broadcasts every other weekend..
Does that also mean that Fox (this weekend's Doubleheader Network) has control over the game times of the CBS games as this Sunday as well? That is, did Fox (or the NFL) tell CBS that they can only have the BAL/CLE game on in the 4:00pm est time slot? Was CBS not allowed to spread their schedule out? From the four CBS games at 1:00pm est and one game at 4:00pm est, to say three at 1:00pm and two at 4:00pm, for example?
Thanks for the info.

I meant, CBS isn't really Trying to compete with them in that slot. They only get one game this week, and decided that the Steelers/Bengals 1pm game would draw the best ratings as their national telecast.

Look at which teams have early home games on FOX. Minnesota, Houston, Detroit, and Tampa. Due to these areas having early home games on FOX, they cannot get an early game on CBS. Since CBS's only late game is BAL/CLE, this is the CBS game that these areas get.
Generally speaking, if the local team is playing at home on Sunday afternoon, their game is the only one that will air at that time. The other network will not show a game against the local team's home game.

Awesome. Instead of NYG at SEA, I get PHI at SF. I hope the Eagles game is ubershort and I get to watch the end of the Giants game. Unlikely, as they will probably just go right into Eagles post game crap....

I wonder if TN, GA, LA, MS, AR and parts of FL(broadcasting CAR at TB) opt out and go with CHI at MN instead. Any stations that have made requests for a change? WSH at HOU and GB at DET are going out to their home markets, Dallas, San Antonio and Austin are getting CHI at MIN and Houston and Brownsville are getting the WSH at HOU game. Philadelphia gets the CHI at MIN game instead of what they would have most likely would have gotten (WSH at HOU). That is what 3 0-2 games and 1 2-0 for FOX at 1pm gets you. I get stuck with WSH at HOU instead of CHI at MIN.
