Week 3 Fantasy Football: Who to Start?

I figured I'd give a thread like this a shot... so people can see the opinions on certain fantasy players when compared to others, in a nice self-contained thread. :)

First up:
QB: Rex Grossman vs MIN, Jake Delhomme vs TB, or Byron Leftwich vs IND?
DEF/ST: Are the Steelers a bad option this week? I know they'll give up points, but if your alternatives are the likes of Broncos, Jets, Redskins, and Dolphins... while having to drop one of the above QBs or the Charcgers' defense......

Any opinions?

Leftwich and Dolphin defense.

I'd actually go Delhomme vs. Tampa on QBs. Tampa's D isn't as good as it used to be. Though he may not get too many passing TDs if they are as easy to run on as they've shown in the first two games. Grossman at Minny is second.

I just picked up Grossman this week as well.

Now I have to decide if I start him, or Hasselbeck. Hasselbeck has been a disappointment so far this year, but I know as soon as I bench him he'll blow up for 4 TDs.

Tennesse has a legitimate shot to go 0-16 and this a must game for Miami at home. I expect a big effort from the fish on both sides of the ball.

Leftwich is more of a vote against Grossman at Min which looks like a defensive struggle and Delhomme vs Tampa. Just don't feel good about that Carolina attach at all right now.

Maybe Jags/Indy gets into the 20s for both teams. And if the Jags somehow fall behind they can throw a lot.

I just picked up Grossman this week as well.

I think Hasselbeck will do fine against the Giants (remember McNabb last week?). And with Alexander banged up (damnit!!!), and Branch playing (right?), they'll throw a lot.

I don't know who to drop. Grossman has now shown that he can give a big performance, Delhomme can be good when Smith returns, and Leftwich can have a nice season if he doesn't get injured. All three have weaknesses... so I'm lost on who to drop right now. :(

I'd stick with the Steelers defense. I smell a big performance after losing last week.

For QB, mind you, I'm a Bears fan, so I'm biased, but, the case for Grossman this week. Vikings are short a starting DE, and Grossman has shown to be lethal when he has time to throw. No pressure from the line and Rex has a good shot to put up another big game.

I would start Delhomme out of those three. You could probably drop Leftwich safely, he just doesn't put up much for fantasy numbers. Grossman could put up good numbers, but the Vikings defense has been pretty stifling against two offenses that are about as good as Chicago's and the Metrodome is not an easy place for a quarterback.

Vikings fan here, so take it for what it's worth. I would be surprised to see either the Vikings or Bears break 20 points.

I don't think you can consider starting Delhomme without knowning that Smith is going to be in the lineup. That offense has been really poor the first couple of weeks this year against the Falcons (home) and Vikings (away). Last I checked, the Vikings were not exactly an elite defense. But old man Brunell and Jake D have made them look pretty good so far.

I like Leftwich because he's put up nice yardage numbers against two good defenses. I'd like Grossman even more, but I'm not sure how good the Vikings defense really is. And I don't trust Delhomme to go over 200 yards and 1 TD unless Smith is there... but I'd think he's out this week too. Even in Smith's first game back, I don't think he'd do well.

Grossman will put up 250 and 2 if the Bears O-Line continues to protect him.

Dolphins at home versus Tenn? Easy start

I probably go Leftwich. I'm debating between starting Reggie Williams and Colston for NO at WR and between Kitna and Roethlisberger at QB. Ben's against Cincy while Kitna plays GB. Normally, I wouldn't consider it but I have a feeling anyone can put up passing stats against GB.

My fantasy team is 1-1 and I think this upcoming week looks pretty bleak. I have several bench guys on a bye, and most of my starters play in tough games. I need advice...

(BTW, this is a yahoo league with standard scoring rules)

QB: Brees vs Atl or Pennington @ Buf?
RB: (Pick 2) R. Johnson @ PIT, R. Bush vs ATL, A. Green @ DET, J. Lewis @CLE (questionable)

All my other positions are set because my other 2 other WR's have byes.

I'm really torn on all of these. Would I be crazy to bench Rudi Johnson and his 29 pts so far in favor of Ahman Green and his 8 pts or Jamal Lewis and his 12 points? Lewis is questionable, so that's a scare. Green is on Green Bay which is also scary, but they're playing the f'in Lions. Rudi would be a no-brainer start against any other team in the league except PIT.

At QB, Brees is my #2 (Trent Green was #1) and I picked up Pennington off waivers. Pennington's #'s have been strong so far and he's playing a Buffalo team that's maybe an 8-win team at best and Brees may not get many possessions with ATL running the ball as well as they have.

I think it will be a Saturday decision for me, but input from you guys would be appreciated. If I had to pick right now, I'd probably go with:

QB-Pennington
RB-Bush&Johnson (insert sophmoric comment here :p)

Dola, I think I'll be lucky to score 50 points this week (other starters are Hines Ward vs CIN, Rod Smith @ NE, Chad Johnson @ PIT, Dallas Clark vs JAX, John Carney vs ATL, and Cincy DEF @ PIT). So I think making the right choices here could be the difference between a win and a loss.

I like the Jags passing attack, but I'm never sure which of their WR will be used, and when. For that reason, I'd go with Colston since Brees seemsto like him.

I'm not sure Ben is 100% yet, so I'd be worried about starting him.

I'm torn on these too! Doesn't Atlanta have a better run-D than pass-D? I'd think the Saints would pass more than they'd run.

And I hate sitting top-tier players based on matchups, so I'd start Rudi for sure.
