Shaun Alexander - time to sell? Can you even sell at this point?

Worst time to sell - you're selling very low at this point. You may as well ride him out and hope that a) his foot gets better and b) the 4 WR sets for the Seahawks start opening up some running lanes.

And it's not getting better any time soon. @Chicago and then a Bye.

Exactly - unless you can find someone highly optimistic on Alexander, it's doubtful you'd get a great return on him right now.

You know your season is headed for the toilet when
A. you have the #3 pick and can't trade out
and
B. you face Peyton Manning the week he runs in a naked bootleg

BREAKING NEWS
Shaun Alexander
Reigning NFL MVP Out Indefinitely
Is it the Madden cover jinx? Seahawks star Shaun Alexander, the latest to grace the cover of the game, is the latest to get hurt. Alexander is out indefinitely with a broken foot. Seattle (3-0) is at Chicago (3-0) Sunday.

2-4 weeks likely, with the first two weeks being Chicago and their bye, so not too terrible timing wise from a fantasy football perspective. That said, I wish Leonard Weaver wasn't hurt right now, or this would be his chance to shine. His style going up against Chicago, even just spelling Morris would be a lot of fun to watch.
Ah well, another day full of 4 WR sets and hopefully they can get into their bye week without losing anybody else. It'd really be nice to start getting some guys back from injuries rather than only adding to the list.

It aint a jinx. Alexander was almost a near certainty to get hurt this season. 430 carries. You just don't do that and come back the next year as good as you were before. your injury chanes fly up the charts and you'll usually be far less effective even without the injuries.
This was easy to see coming.

Madden curse.
EA Sports strikes again.
Never fails.
Any player should reject being on the cover.

So with Alexander out vs. the bears should I start Hasselbeck or Grossman? Will the Seahawks passing game be affected by the loss of Alexander?

I suspect the Seahawks will use a lot of their 4-WR set with Jackson, Engram, Burleson and Branch with a mix of Mack Strong and Mo Morris as the lone back. They may still run some traditional I-formation with Strong and Morris, and Morris is a decent runner, but he's smaller than Alexander and isn't the same goal line threat. However, he's a much better receiver than Shaun.
I guess I'd expect the 'Hawks to pass more with Alexander out. Even considering they're on the road against the Bears' D, I think I'd rather have Hasselbeck than Grossman - I think the Seahawk's D will put the clamps on Grossman.
