Cool. I currently work for one of the Big Four accounting firms as an IT Security Auditor and like it. But, the work requires a lot traveling and with the new baby coming next year, I want something more stable. I am just curious the company culture, how are benfits like health, dental, 401k(our's sucks), chance for promotion, are there bonus', much chance for training(IT guys like us this is pretty important) and general stuff about the company. What do you like about it and what do not like from the corporate sense maybe not your speciafic job. If you want to fill me on the place a little it would be much appreciated, just PM me if you feel more comforatble that way.

Company culture.. is.. well.. I work at one of the buildings (171), not the HQ by any stretch of the imagination, but fairly close.
Promotion/Bonuses, can't really tell ya, I've been here three ears, but less then a year as a full time Employee.
I'm in the Global Technical Support division for the clariions, and there is some training.. there is a lot of bitching right now in GTS because the beancounters recently made two changes to save money.. they pretty much eliminated over time (Used to be we'd make $50/hr for OT, period, now during your normal shift, the first two hours of OT, you don't get ANYTHING, and coming in on your day off is straight pay), and eliminated the paid lunches (since we in GTS are expected to work through lunch, they paid for the first $5.25 of our meals, and instead are going to offer us 30 or 45 minute paid lunches).
The health and dental are pretty good, as is the 401K
EMC has gone through a buying spree lately, and there's some indigestion as it tires to handle all these new acquisitions, but still, I like it here a lot.

Yeah, part of the opportunity could be related to the RSA acquisition which is a pretty significant "add-on" along with Network Intelligence. That is a good overview. I long since gave up worry about getting overtime. Currently, my firm doesn't even consider training or genral office tasks like filling out employee performance reports or completing hours reporting as paid time. Being an accounting firm they go by chargeable time and aim to get people at 90% utilization for the year which means 2000 chargeable hours. Not fun. Sorry, shop talk and ways thnaks for the info and I will let you know if I wind up there for an interview or get a job. But, one thing we can't mention we know each other from an online message board for sports text sim gaming.:)

Just bought a Clariion. Doing the install in a couple weeks, now I know who to ask for help when I bring our data center down.
Big mistake Fozzie! :D

Anyone happen to know what the small EMC facility in Westborough off RT 9 does? I work right next to it, even EMC employees I've had onsite couldn't tell me for sure.

A lot of the research, training, engineering and development folks are currently in Westborough and Southboro.. I hear rumors that they're looking to bring them back to hopkinton because those buildings are leased and not owned

When I first moved to Massachusetts in 1999, I lived in those townhouse apartments right next to there! Lived only one year there though.
