Just about every time I think I have a great draft, the game gives me something like a C-. So I decided to do an experiment!

I ran a draft where all I took was the lowest rated player in the draft with each pick. So I end up with a draft of all punters who have no chance of making the team.

I got a B-

How about drafting 7 punters and/or kickers?

My theory on how the draft grade is determined:

The grade starts off based upon the current strength of the team relative to the other teams in the league before the draft. And, then that grade is modified based upon the picks made.

So, a really strong team that makes no pick in the draft will still end up with a high grade.

And in your two examples if your team's relative strength before the draft was average or below in the first example, then I can see a C- happening. In your second example, you probably had an above average team (possibly a top team) before the draft.

I always thought your grade was partially determined by how the game determined your needs, so if it said you needed ILB then RB, and you drafted very good players at those positions, you got a good grade. At least that's how it has seemed to me.
