Refresh my memory.

Was Sov banned? If so what happened? I can't seem to recall.

While he was in the box and created a new account and posted with it. That's an auto-ban. It was how poor Suicane was banned too. I think Sov was desparate to go out that way...

is it a lifetime ban?

Yup. Well, bans can be appealed after a certain amount of time, but basically it's a lifetime ban...

I'm appealing on their behalf. America is about second chances.

Yeah this board lacks something fierce without Sov/Sui. They're the West Memphis Two.

I urge you to get behind them.

Seriously. JB is still around but those two aren't? Is there some sort of rally we can hold?

I was thinking more like Bonnie and Clyde.

It's no secret that Suicane and sov chat with each other a lot. Suicane knew the rules and broke them anyway, and even if he claimed ignorance (which he didn't), sov would've known that the same offense would get him banned, too. This was no accident by either one of them, so if they knowingly break rules that'll get them banned, they should be banned. I like both of the guys, but they knew what they were doing, so out they go.

Can't common sense come to play here? They are/were two solid members of the forum, not just random trolls.

I wouldn't call them "solid", but they were definitely active.

Having said that, they had to have known the rules.

he actually did this several times in rapid succession, which i believe sealed the deal in terms of life/not life duration

I would've thought that suicane and sov had too high of post counts to get banned.

he actually did this several times in rapid succession, which i believe sealed the deal in terms of life/not life durationThere's no possible way that he didn't know exactly what he was doing, and it wasn't even anywhere near a grey area. Someone posted a thread entitled "How to rip off so-and-so", or something to that effect. I edited the post so the information wouldn't be visible. Moments later, sov re-posted the information, clearly in direct defiance of the ruling. I mean, come on. If you don't like my ruling that certain content is inappropriate, you've got a few choices. These should come as a surprise to know one who has been here for any length of time:

1. Bitch about it in public. Hey, you get to blow off steam, but you know that I consider those public bitchings to be grandstanding and they have little/no weight with me. Some of those get read by me, but nowhere near all of them anymore. None of those have any real impact on future decisions.
2. Complain to me in private. I'll read every word, give you feedback, maybe bounce it off the mods, and maybe even change my decision this time or do things differently in the future.
3. Out-and-out defy the ruling by re-posting the content. That's gonna get you suspended or banned 100% of the time, no matter who you are.
4. Just suck it up and deal with the fact that I'm a dictator................sometimes.

So, Sov chose what was behind Door #3, and got his suspension. In the ensuing next hour or so, he proceeded to register several accounts, re-posting the information yet again with at least one of those new accounts.

I've made a few decisions here that I've second-guessed later on. This wasn't one of them.

[20:10] sovereignstar: do me a favor and tell everyone that I don't care to post at SkyDog Central anymore if that threads keeps living and that Suicane has been told that he can't come back as suicane

I'd just like to point out Ben that since you always have the ultimate decision making authority to make and enforce the rules (the proverbial judge, jury and executioner) that you are ALWAYS a dictator.

Sometimes you are benevolent, sometimes the Dark Jedi, but always the dictator.

blah-blah-blah SkyDog Central blah-blah-blah
Something about the term amuses the hell out of me. My mental image is of Ben's computer room, dripping with UGa slobber and other assorted Georgia/Tucker sports motif, and piled high with spreadsheets of QB ratings and FOF run/pass ratios.

Oh, and a pair o' patriotic undies wadded up on the floor. And a guitar.
