Kind of early I know, but I just had a chuckle today reading the preview for the Bears/Seahawks game this weekend.

It features the offensive and defensive players of the month, which isn't all that odd, except the offensive player is from Chicago and the defensive player is from Seattle.

Big test for the Seahawks, really hoping that Gray and Locklear are both able to perform at least at 90% or even with the 4 wideout system, they'll be forced into 3 step drops all day which will give the Bears secondary a great opportunity to start jumping routes. The loss of Alexander (I think) is over rated as Morris is better suited to face the Bears D (quick decision north/south runner as opposed to the stutter style of Alexander). In the end, I really think Seattle can still put up 14-17 points on the Bears D, so it'll be whether or not their D can limit Grossman and Co. to less than that. Here's hoping the D can continue their fine season (4th quarter of the Giants game not really included).

Yeah, this week we'll find out what the Chargers are made of. Playing the Raiders and the Titans can make any team look stellar.

Love the Chargers.

Ever since Natrone Means stole the show and Doug Flutie took command like a field general, I've been a supporter. But Tomlinson doesn't have a chance. Ravens win.

I wish that Smith could sit out this week against the Saints. Our secondary is TERRIBLE. I *know* that this is a rebuilding year and I should be glad that the Linebacker corps (which was assembled the week before week 1) HASN'T been ridiculed and Brees hasn't been knocked out of a game yet.

I just can't stop wishing that McKenzie were 2" taller to go against the receivers in the Bump & Run. To those who don't know him, he's the CB from GB that has the long dreadlocks. I don't think he's being outrun, but he's being outplayed way too often.

sigh.

I have Torry Holt in 2 of my fantasy leagues, so I would've loved for him to get credit for the TD, but that announcer was wrong. He never had full control of the ball, despite how he had two feet down. That was an appropriate overturn (of the call originally being a fumble).

I'll say it again: Rookie of the year: Marques Colston.(132yrds recieving on the day with one LONG TD). He is one great 4th to last 7th round draft pick. Every decade or so Hofstra gives the NFL one very good WR. :)

2nd and 4 at NE 12 (2:27) C.Dillon left tackle to NE 24 for 12 yards (M.Williams).
1st and 10 at NE 24 (1:44) T.Brady pass short middle to L.Maroney to NE 39 for 15 yards (C.Miller).
1st and 10 at NE 39 (1:06) L.Maroney right tackle pushed ob at CIN 20 for 41 yards (T.James).
1st and 10 at CIN 20 (:38) T.Brady pass to D.Graham pushed ob at CIN 9 for 11 yards (H.Jones). {H.Jones (CIN#44) injured on the play, P20 came off the field with assistance}
Then a Dillon run to the 6 and 2 INC

Bengals laid an egg today. I think we'll see 3,000 stories this week about how the Patriots demise has been overrated. And I think they'll all be wrong. Thier big problems still remain. Brady was somehing like 2 of 9 on third down passes when it was still a game. The running game isn't going to generate 200+ yards every week. And they'll be lucky to have one playoff game where it does that. The passing game still desperately needs to get fixed.

Carson Palmer is playing some horrible football right now. The Steelers horrible turnovers helped overshadow how poorly he looked in the pocket. He's handling pressure pretty poorly right now.

Assuming that Gabriel and Jackson gel with Brady, where exactly is the weakness on offense? The timing will come. They are far from one dimensional. Of course the media will overreact, just as they did last week. But if the Pats avoid Denver in the playoffs, I think they could do some damage. I won't read too much into one victory, but since they are like 3-100 against Denver, I don't read too much into that loss either.

Wow, no mention about the Bears beatdown?

Just got back from the bars with a few friends. That was very impressive, Alexander or not.

What is the fascination with Kurt Warner?

On the rare occaisions he has held on to the ball for the entirety of his dropback, he has thrown the ball quite well this season. He is almost assuredly a better passer right now than Matt Leinart (and mind you, I have always been one of the most vocal in the Warner is overrated camp, and have a lot invested in Leinart in an efs (http://dynasty.efsports.com/efs/efsfa_index.jsp) league). But, at the rate Warner is laying the ball on the ground, the Cards simply cannot keep trotting him out there.

That said, I found it ironic that Leinart fumbled on his second NFL snap (with an unblocked DT reaching him roughly the same time as the ball).

Bengal's gameplan and lack of adjustments were horrible. Their noninterest in running the ball and playing some smashmouth was amaturish. Rudi was running well but they insist on playing 100 miles an hour. They could have made a game of it but refused to run the ball.

More like the Cincy coaching staff isn't ready for prime time.

Everyone is off buying their Super Bowl tickets for the soon to be 19-0 Bears campaign. :D

The Bears looked unbeatable in that game. Un-frikking-beatable. That was a resounding, dominant, perfect win in virtually every facet of the game.

We sucked balls.

Passing of the torch?

The Bears looked truly sick. Probably more unbeatable than any other team will look at any time this season. That said, there are still a lot of weeks left for things to change.

I don't know. I love Devin Hestor and what he could do with the return game, but yesterday was brutal. He looked lost out there. That being said, if the only thing I can complain about after yesterday's game was that, the Bears are in good shape.

Well since there's no Monday night thread this week (strange), I guess I'll have to post my mini-rant here then.

What the fuck is it with these "fans" showing up at a game, paying a good ammount of money for decent/good seats and immediately getting on their cell phones and yammering the entire night? Everytime the camera's give us a shot of the crowd, there's at least four or five people in the shot on the their cell phones. Why bother shelling out all that cash to go sit in the seats if you're just going to be on your cell phone the entire game? Jeez, that shit is lame to me.

I don't know about any of you guys, but I'd be pretty upset if I were sitting next to some idiot who wanted to be on his phone the entire game ...

Has any cornerback in NFL history been burned as often as Ahmad Carroll? Seems like every time the Packers are on TV he gets beaten for long gains three times absolute minimum.

Ahmad Carroll was nothing but toast at Arkansas too, not to mention hes only 5-9. It was a joke that he was considered as high a draft choice as he was when he came out.

Whenever I think of a CB getting burned, I think of Elvis "Toast" Patterson.

Weather. If it's a warm day, teams with dark colored home jerseys will wear the whites.

At least that's one reason (which was why the Bears were in the whites a couple weeks ago at home).
