View Full Version : installing new video card, need some help!

Just bought a new video card today. The old one was a very generic, cheap one.

My new video card manual says I first need: display drivers for an AGP card, and need drivers for the motherboard.

But it doesn't say how I determine what kind of motherboard I have.
It then says to remove my old display drivers, but doesn't say how to get the new ones -- are they included on the cd with the new video card?

Any help appreciated. Thanks!

The display drivers should all come on an installation cd.

first goto add/remove and remove the old video drivers.

Then shutdown cpu.

Install the video card and boot up.

Goto web site and get latest drivers for your video card and install it.

Restart cpu.

Thanks.

But what about this part -- how I determine what kind of motherboard I have, so I can install those drivers?
