Each week, college football producer J. Darin Darst (http://www.sportsline.com/columns/writers/darst) will predict where your team will land during the bowl season. Don't agree? Post your picks. (http://www.sportsline.com/mcc/messages/thread/194847)

The champions of selected conferences are contractually committed to certain bowls, unless they are No. 1 or No. 2. (ACC: Orange; Big Ten: Rose; Big 12: Fiesta; Pac-10: Rose; SEC: Sugar).

If a Bowl loses a host team to the title game, then the bowl gets first choice at a replacement team. The rest of the selection order is as follows: Sugar, Orange, Fiesta.

Notre Dame earns an automatic berth if it is in the top eight of the final BCS Standings, while non-BCS schools can earn bids if ranked in the top 12 of the final BCS Standings.

I question whether a one-loss Louisville team is going to have the schedule to get a ranking that puts them in a BCS game. I think there's a reasonably good chance of a third SEC team making it in (if they can avoid killing each other), or possibly a second PAC-10 team in Oregon.

I will be shocked if Oregon is a BCS team. Cal is more likely to be a 2nd team from the Pac-10.

- Virginia Tech won't win the ACC
- A one loss Auburn would play in the MNC ahead of an undefeated WVU
- Notre Dame won't finish in the top 8

VPI, you feeling okay?
Along with the defense, we have a very good running back and a very good receiving corps, but our offensive line has looked very mediocre this season against poor competition. They're not giving our backs (wait, I should say back, singular, since our backup quit football a two weeks ago) any sort of crease to get through the line and our QB doesn't have adequate time to make the right decisions. He's only a soph, so I can't fault him, but against good defenses his mistakes will be amplified. Unless the offense gets better in a hurry, I don't think we'll be beating the better teams on our schedule unless the defense gives us a couple scores a game.

Poli

It could be worse. You don't have Tennessee's offensive line.

OT: Did you reset your post count? That's too cool for school.

- Virginia Tech won't win the ACC

As much as it hurts me to say, yes they will. They are the strongest team in the weakest conference of the majors.

- A one loss Auburn would play in the MNC ahead of an undefeated WVU
If WVU goes undefeated, and Auburn has 1 loss, WVU will go ahead of Auburn.

- Notre Dame won't finish in the top 8
Yeah, that's probably right.

Yeah, that's probably right

Going to come down to the USC game. A 10-2 ND probably won't be in the top 8 unless it's as close as last year. An 11-1 ND will be.

What's the Bowl picture using the FOFC poll? :)

Does Boise State have a chance if they go unbeaten?

I predict Notre Dame will be given a bowl game in which they didn't earn.

I think if WVU runs the table, they will play in the title game unless there is more than 1 other BCS conference unbeaten.

BC will win the ACC and be in BCS Bowl.
