Visually, look at the slope of the upward red section -- rise over run is 3/8 or 0.375... the upward green section is 2/5 or 0.400. It's not the same.
The lower "triangle" bulges out, the upper caves in, and teh net difference is the square by which they differ.

If you ever wanted to bait a Quiksand, all you need is a puzzle similar to the above. I think his wife used a similar puzzle to originally snag him.
