Hot Springs, AR

Anybody been there or live there?

Care to recommend a spa to visit, places to eat, anything else my sister and I should check out while we visit our brother there?

We're going 10/6-10/9, so will be there for the full day Saturday and Sunday. My brother just moved there, and neither my sister nor I have been, so it's going to be kind of new to us all.

Took my wife there once for a weekend vacation and she enjoyed some of the "quaint" shopping. Stayed at a nice bed and breakfast. However, I don't remember any spas or anything of the sort there, nor did I find any of the restaurants memorable.

My roomate went there for the day and bought a bunch of stuff. She said the shops are awesome but couldn't remember any names. Good luck.

There is a whole in the wall German restaurant in town near all the major hotels. I can't remember the name of it for the life of me, but you go down below ground level to get there. It is really good and has a good selection of German beers and wines. I go there every year when I am in town for conventions.

Went there for a day once...around '95. I remember nothing of it except for a sign seen somewhere along the main drag:

"Welcome to Hot Springs, Arkansas: Home of the last Democratic President of our lifetime."

Hot Springs isn't the birthplace of Bill Clinton, you must have driven south to Hope, AR.
