I was away from my computer during the time that a few people asked about who to start in last week's thread... and I didn't get on the computer until the 2nd games.

I have a couple decisions to make again this week:

QB: Delhomme vs Browns, or Grossman vs Bills?
WB: Chambers vs Patriots, Colston vs Bucs, Javon Walker vs Ravens, or Gabriel vs Dolphins?

I can start two WR... Chambers has been a huge disappointment so far, but I believe he can still have a big game (vs the Pats though?). Colston has been consistent, and I don't see why he won't be again this week. Walker had the one big game before his bye, and now faces the Ravens. Gabriel looks to be Brady's go-to guy and has had a consistent time lately.

I'm thinking Colston and Gabriel... and for QB, Delhomme against the beat-up Browns secondary.

Any thoughts?

Delomme, Colston and Chambers. I think it's Ben Watson's turn this week against the pathetically slow Dolphin linebackers rather than Gabriel.

Lets see.. I have a multitude of problems

Qb: Brees Vs Tampa / Brunell Vs Nyg / Plummer Vs Bal / Culpepper Vs Ne

And do i sit mcgahee this week in favor of say.. Plaxico Burress (rb/wr flex)
Or play plaxico in place of Braylon Edwards (vs car)

Here's a fantasy tip for all of you:

If Brad Johnson is available in your league pick him up. Pick him up now and start him this week. Trust me on this one.

I dunno if i want to take on another qb with my mess of a situation above

Here are three stat lines of QBs over the last three weeks:

QB A 20/27, 289 Yds., 4 TD, 0 INT.

QB B 25/36, 340 Yds., 3 TD, 0 INT.

QB C 26/42, 328 Yds., 3 TD, 0 INT.

Brad Johnson is likely to have very similar numbers. Trust me.

If you pass on Johnson, I'd go with Delhomme. He's due I think.

I understand what those teams did against detroit, But in this situation.. who would i possibly cut?

Culpepper/Brees/Plummer/Brunell?

besides the fact that every team the lions faced had something of a go to receiver (holt/Driver/Muhammed) the vikings really don't have such a player.. williamson hasn't met a pass he can't drop. and Damon huard might even be a better play against arizona (not that i'd pick him up either.. just saying)

Culpepper is poop. He couldn't do anything against Houston. They are talking about having Joey Harrington start over him. Joey "Freaking" Harrington! (Though if Culpepper remains the starter, put him in on Thanksgiving). It's also be poetic justice to cut Culpepper for Johnson.

In St. Louis both Holt and 98 year old Isaac Bruce had over 100 yards. Driver only had 3 catches for 20 yards (rookie WR Jennings had 102 yards). For Chicago Muhammed had only 4 catches for 59 yards, where Berrian had 5 catches for 89 yards (1 td) and Clark had 5 catches for 85 yards (1 TD).

These great QB performances were not the result of one "go to" receiver, these were a team effort. The Lions can't cover anyone. Anyone. Wideouts, tight ends, backs out of the backfield, it's all good.

Do as you will, but don't say I didn't warn you...

I'd just like to point out that my wife caught 2 touchdowns against the Lions defense a couple of weeks ago.

Cut Culpepper! He sucks. He's sucked for 2 years now. He couldn't do anything against Houston... HOUSTON. I don't think you'll lose much by cutting him. I doubt anyone would be too eager to swoop in and pick him up off waivers. Even if they did, you still have Brunell and Brees.

I've watched every crap-ass play of the Lions this year. They are god awful on defense. Their offense is getting good. That will, in turn, put pressure on the Vikings to score more which means more passes.

I don't think Fernando Bryant (starting CB) or Kenoy Kennedy (starting safety) will be back. Also, the Lions haven't won in Minnesota in forever.

That first one she was just wide open. It was blown coverage by Jamar Fletcher. That second one though... That was just one hell of a catch.

Alright...I need to start 2 WRs...I'm torn with going with the talent or the matchup:

Keyshawn at home versus Cleveland
Reggie Williams at home versus New York Jets
Chambers at New England
Javon Walker at home versus Baltimore

I'm leaning toward Keyshawn and Reggie Williams because the other matchups simply don't appeal to me at all.

I don't like Walker this week either. And I'm still torn on Chambers myself. Since I'm thinking of starting Delhomme, I think both Smith and Keyshawn will do good this week. Reggie Williams I'm not so sure about either...

Further support for the "start Brad Johnson" argument:

The Detroit Lions defense has given up 31 points or more in their last three games, opposing quarterbacks are completing 71 percent of their passes, have thrown 10 touchdowns (with no interceptions) and have a combined passer rating of 121.9. The Lions have one sack in the last three games.

they can stop the run though so they have that going for them...which is nice.

I don't trust putting Brad in there, since I think Delhomme can have a nice game too. But I did pick up Wiggins as my TE, just in case...

Ok I got one, I need two RB's out of these four:

Ronnie Brown vs. New England
Ahman Green vs. St. Louis
Jamal Lewis vs. Denver
Lamant Jordan vs. San Fran

I'm really stuck on this one...Jordan is on a terrible team but I think he can run against the 9ers, and Green I think has been a lil banged up since the first week.

PackerFanatic
10-05-2006, 04:32 PM
Yeah, Green sat out last week. Not sure about his status for this week...I would probably go with Jordan and Brown to be safe...although if Green is healthy he might not be a bad start.

PackerFanatic

Alright...I have a quandry and maybe you guys can help. I have Steve Smith and Marvin Harrison starting at WR, with Kevin Jones and Julius Jones starting at RB. I have a W/R position and I am not sure who to put in there from these guys...

WR Javon Walker (vs Bal)
WR Greg Jennings (vs STL)
RB DeAngelo Williams (vs Cle)
RB Cadillac Williams (@ NO)
WR Jerricho Cotchery (@ Jac)
WR Matt Jones (NYJ)

Jones probably won't play, so he is out...and I have heard a lot of bad talk about Walker vs Bal. Who would be my best play in this situation? Cadillac hasn't been doing much all year...Cotchery is starting to light up, but I don't know if it will last.

Braylon Edwards
Reuben Droughns
Plaxico Burress

Sublime...I'd go with Jordan and Ronnie Brown

Packer...I think I'd go with Jennings as crazy as it might sound.

Ragone...good luck with that one. I wouldn't want to start any of them.

easy decision here.. troy williamson against the craptacular lions d

I agree with Williamson here. H_B's posts have merit in that all of the Vikings offensive players have a chance to do something this week.

Braylon Edwards

Plaxico Burress

Carolina has been giving up nice rushing yards, so I'd pick Droughns first... toss up between the other two, but I personally wouldn't want to start two Browns players... Burress has to have a nice game at some point?

WR Javon Walker (vs Bal): Defense too good... he's out.
WR Greg Jennings (vs STL): Seems to put up nice numbers.
RB DeAngelo Williams (vs Cle): Can't count on his carries.
RB Cadillac Williams (@ NO): Hasn't been producing.
WR Jerricho Cotchery (@ Jac): Jags D is good... so I'm not sure about that.
WR Matt Jones (NYJ): Out?

To me, it's between Jennings and Cotchery. And since you're a Packer fan... it's always nicer to cheer for a guyon your team. ;) That, and the Jags D is good.

Jordan had a nice week last week, and is going against the 49ers. So I'd start him. Hard to pick the other...

I have to start either McGahee or T.Jones as my #2 back.

I dunno, i really have no choice but to start McGahee.. but i really feel the bears are due for a letdown/coast game..

I'd expect low yardage and a td from mcgahee.. and about the same from T Jones..

And now my next problem
Colts D Vs Tenn
or
Saints D Vs Tampa

I think it's a tossup with the backs (Jones or McGahee)... as for these defenses, it all depends on if you think Gradowski can do something... The Titans won't be scoring much, but they at least will score something... Gradowski? Not so sure...

With Alexander out, Dunn bye... I have Addai and Mike Bell starting.

I really don't like Mike Bell there, but are there any options anyone can think of that can sneak in to do well? Lendale White? Umm... Justin Fargas? :D

If Culpepper does sit, that probably means Gabriel is a better start than Chambers, right? I know Daunte hasn't done much this year, but it's freaking Harrington....

Man, I'm hurting. I got Brady vs. MIA or Kitna vs. MIN. I want to go with Kitna, as he has scored more pts than Brady and DET will probably be down...but I just can't bench Brady. Thoughts?
