Converting .flv files (youtube/google videos) to .avi

does anyone know how to do this? i wasted a good 2 hours last nite using how-to's from various conversion sites and they all were good for nothing. you have to jump through 3 hoops to do it, was wondering if anyone here has any proven methods of doing it? i want to use footage from youtube/google in my private videos that i make for my friends. thanks.

that shit don't work, fool. too much shit you need to do (like adjusting framerate so that video and audio synch up...you think i got time to worry about that shit). unless you've actually done it yourself, then i'll revisit. i was looking more for input from FOFC people who actually do this on a regular basis, which would insinuate they found a rather straightforward approach that doesn't involve me having to do too much shit to get it to work. i'm not interested in holding my scrotum while dancing the Charleston and saying the word "exactamundo!" to get something to work. i don't like jumping through hoops.

but i love you berry much for providing the link, i was more venting about all the time i wasted last nite trying to get this to work.

GODDAM. another riva link. all right, i'm gonna redownload and try again. maybe it didn't work for me cuz i was using old footage (i downloaded "Nosferatu" and plan on using that, along with my mpeg version of "Thriller" and a black MJ in various parts of my video).
