will some of the old editors work on 2007? Will the old FAF 1.4 for 2k4 work with this game?

I was hoping that a player editor would come with this game as well.

i don't have the answer, i just wanted to point out to you that you only have 90 posts here, thus, helping you resolve any questions you may have is not a concern of this community at this time. you might find someone with a couple hundred posts who isn't part of the club yet willing to help you out.

as you were.

Every day I open my store, I pray that Hell Atlantic's new self-help book has hit the shelves. I like to imagine the title as I'm OK, You Can Go Skullfuck Dale Carnegie For All I Care.

Since I'm not in the club, I'll venture the opinion that with each new release, Jim adds so many stat and data fields that third-person utilities are useless from one version to the next. However, there are enough programmers here that I'm sure someone will step up to the plate and produce something if one is needed.*

*Unless we chase them off or they go work for the competition or something. :)

don't think so, but there is a .csv that comes with the game called "players.csv" You can open and edit it with a spreadsheet. Then save your changes and open the player file creator that came with the new game to generate a new .fdt file that you can use with the game.

I'd buy it.

The player files are slightly different as a new column for blitz pickup has been added, so some adjustments need to be made. This also means that FOF2K4 player files won't work in FOF2K7.

Thank you nilodor for responding to my question. It is much appreciated.

Oh yes, Hell Atlantic, I or any other individuals don't need these lectures. If people are asking questions let them ask it and if you don’t want to respond than don’t. In general, people who give these lectures like try to demonstrate their era of superiority. Maybe you need to do so, that is a question you can only answer. For me, I am not a computer whiz and don’t mind asking people who know more than myself to learn.

I don’t have 4000 posts because I don’t pretend to speak for the WHOLE community. So next time I or some else asks a question let them ask it. If you don’t like it, move on to the next post and save your self some time and effort for something better and more productive. This is my last response on this matter to you.

Old draft files (*.faf) are working in FOF2k7 without any changes. Meaning the draft file editor(s) should be good for this version as well.

Thanks 3ric. You helped me out in the past with my questions and I always appreciated it.

One other question, I have always used the editors that have been made by the individuals in community. Since no new player file, fdt, editors have been made at this point. How can I get a cvs spreadsheet to edit the players. I have excell, but cvs was not in file type?

Excel should be able to open csv files as well, you can try it with this one, modified to work with the FOF2k7 Player File Creator:

Do you have the 1970 player file, fdt, for 2007? If so, could you link that so I could download that. I love the 70's football.

I downloaded the cvs file above. Can you convert that to a fdt? If so who do you do it.

Yeah, in the FOF2k7 start menu folder there's a utility included, "Player File Creator". Open it and run it with this csv file and you get a fdt file to use with the game.

I'll take a look at it tomorrow (much too late now on the other side of the pond)

3ric, I got the 70's file to work well and I edited some of the players, but could not edit the one player creator file set up. I was wondering if you had a 2006 player file and could set up a link like you did in the for 70's file so I could download it.

If I can ever do anything for you let me know. I owe you. And once again thanks for your help.

Lighthousekeeper wrote a player file editor, but I imagine it's not going to work with the new files as the fdt file format has changed. Unless the player files are distributed as csv files, we won't be able to edit them.

Do you have a 2k4-2006 player file that was converted to fof2k7 cvs mod like the 70's player. That was the question I should have asked. I can make the changes to file from there.

I'll have to dust off that project (if I can find the source code) and see if I can update it for fof2k07.

Has anyone done any exploring into the updated structure of the player file format to see how it has changed?

OK, gents. The draft files are now hosted, and posted in the sticky thread.
