Post in THIS thread if you're looking for a league in FOF2007 that uses real team names and the player set that comes with the game.

The EFL right now is in a league wide vote to start over or not. Right now its 5-1 for the switch over. I believe 8 votes would give us the majority for the switchover (I gave the option for the GMS).
Post in THIS thread if you're looking for a league in FOF2007 that uses real team names and the player set that comes with the game.
If your starting a brand new league, count me in for Oakland.

I am willing to be the commissioner and not run a team in the league, if Icy is still willing to handle the website design. I have PM'd Icy about this.
I was going to answer your PM Twothree. I have received some PM's from other interested FOFC members and i have answered all the the same.
I'm not totally sold on running the MP league yet, first i want to wait a couple of weeks or so until a new patch is released and then I will consider some PM's i have regarding this, including yours twothree. I want somebody who can really commit and won't leave the league after he gets bored. I have co-comished the DKBL OOTP league and it was so fun, but takes time and effort too, not everybody can commit to that kind of job.
If i go for it i would like it to last a long time like the great NAFL where i have been playing for a few seasons under the great commish Cuckoo helped by Gottimd or like the FBCB league commissioned by Radii, that is also an awesome commish imho.

One of the first major decisions you should think about, is whether you want to start the league with an allocation draft of all players or not. I am guessing that most would not want a draft and would prefer to start with the current players on their current teams, but I could be wrong.

My preference would be to keep our current players. Too me, at least, the point of a real player league is to play in todays NFL and take things forward from there. Like Icy said he wants to see if he can rebuild Green Bay while with my Rams I may have to make the hard decision of cutting M. Faulk (he's in the default roster).
This would be my first MP experience so not sure on what the general concensus would be on starting with level financials or "real world" ones. But my thoughts FWIW would be to stay with the games real world default. Most teams I think have acceptable stadiums and finances and, correct me if I'm wrong, if we use the level playing option everyone gets the same generic stadium. Kind of takes away from the immersion for me.
My 2 cents YMMV.

That sounds fine. I didn't see anyone respond in this thread, except possibly Shakes. And, I am sure there are plenty of people, who would make a better commissioner than myself.
The only thing I would suggest is that the commissioner should not also run a team in the league. VPI97's running of the IHOF is a good example. I believe most leagues' commissioners are also a team owner. But, the commissioner only has to change his color scheme to be able to view any team in the league from the eyes of that team's scout.
While there should be trust among team owners, I am always for the removal of any perception that another owner (commissioner) has the ability to cheat. I view an owner looking at players from a scout's view that is not his own as cheating, unless the entire league has access to that information. (Example: A team owner posting a picture of the scout's ratings on a public message board.) In my opinion, if you can find a commissioner who is dedicated to the league for the long haul without having to be an owner, I say go with him.

twothree: The EFL is definetly going to go the route of 2007. I have asked GMS that were already in to let me know by Wednesday if they are in or out. As far as GMING, I would like to be a gm butI dont mind being just a commish as I have done it before in my hockey league (EHL). That and also I was a victim of cheating to that in a hockey league myself. I have given the reigns off to another GM who is in season 3 of his tenure for the EHL. My sole concentration is on to aFOF 2007 league now.
If anyone wants to view the site here is the address: http://www.eastsidesportsonline.com/efl/index.htm

No the Rams are taken actually. But feel free to sign up on the waiting list. Because probably after Saturdays game (week 4) ill be out looking for gms since I havent heard from some. Also on the right side of the page, where IU have the next sim day, the teams listed for open will be listed. But I am always looking for people to come on the waiting list. It is empty as of now.
Week 3 goes on Wednesday. Sorry for not seeing the message earlier Mike

Top notch? I haven't take a team to the playoffs since I was 16. I'm 26 now! But yes, I do have a ton of experience and have been in a handful of leagues on and off. I've done a lot of commishing as well but do not have the time to do so any longer with work.
