Head Coach was a failed EA attempt at a management game. Some nice ideas, very poor esecution. FOF is in another category. If you're into sports gaming, just buy it! You'll be pleasantly surprised.

I agree with this part. It's like comparing apples and oranges. One is a text sim, the other isn't.

The fact is, we've seen some questionable end of game logic in FOF 2007 amongst other bugs. For a game without any graphics that's inexcusable.

That being said, I believe that FOF 2007 will be fixed; Head Coach won't be.

FOF vs. Head Coach.

After one hour with head coach, you'll decide you want to smash your head into a wall 300 times, grab a pencil and shove it through both of your eye sockets, drink a gallon of drano, set yourself on fire and then jump from the roof of a tall building just to make sure you never accidently even SEE the game being played again, much less play it.

I know some people here are dissapointed in the new FOF. When we find one of them who still prefers Head Coach to FOF, we'll know that they are insane and need a quadruple shot of lithium. This one isn't close, I don't care what criteria you are using to compare the games.

Head Coach is another EA drop. Great idea. They just should have hired Jim.

FOF 2007 is a game designed to a narrow group of players (hardcore manager football sims). It's not designed to be pretty or easy and the curve of learning is a killer. But the result is great. If you like this kind of games you will love it.

Head Coach is a game designed to a big fan base (casual football managers). It's a so-so game, but it's the first game of his dinasty.

IMHO the two can't be compared - FOF2007 is a game aimed at people who want a realistic sim, Head Coach is aimed at casual sports fans.

The same situation happens in most sports (for instance LMA Manager vs FM).

Personally I'd suggest FOF .... but that sort of goes without saying really ;)

I don't think this helps. I prefer The Sims, but have little use for a graphical football sim.
