Is it the AI changing positions?

I think he means a defensive player winning the MVP, and quite a season too!

Is it the AI changing positions? No, a defensive player winning the MVP Award.

It just keeps getting better, it's like Jim fixed all the little gripes we had about FOF2004 through years of play, in this release.

Awesome!

Only one thing from that screen and after that monster season:

Player of the game: 1 time
Player of the week:11 mentions

I guess it means that offensive players are still too weighted in the player of the game awards, but good to see they can now win the season MVP.

No, a defensive player winning the MVP Award.

So did the AI swap his position, then? Because I don't think that ever happened in 04.

It happens a lot now in 2k7 and it's pretty nice to see.

Yes they will switch their positions.

The AI swapped a lot of players' positions in 04 but it's just a lot easier to see now.

In addition to being easier to see, I think there's been an improvement and the game is now changing positions more often and more intelligently. I've even seen the AI playing players out of position more often, such as a RT playing at LT when the starting LT gets injured.

They also send players to summer leagues

Consistently use the franchise tag. Freeney has been franchised 5 times by the Colts, and he's sat heldout through most of the exhibition 3 times, even saw a player holdout into the 2nd week of the regular season due to the franchise tag. (though they need to attempt renegotiations a bit more when a player holdsout, just mentioned this in the bug thread)

And I'm not sure if it happened in FOF2k4, but they also trade picks and players together when doing trades with other teams.

I also mentioned a little bit about the better management towards franchise QB's in the impressions thread.

5 times? Hopefully, after at least by the second one, he holds out until he has a long-term deal or is traded. Do you see franchise players getting longer-term deals later? Also, ever see a team try to make an offer on a franchise prospect?

Wasn't there a change in the CBA about franchising someone for more than 2 years?

I thought you were talking about girl agents.

Yeah I mentioned this in the bug thread because they don't seem to negotiate during holdouts which I figure will be corrected. Just had Tom Brady holdout over a contract dispute, and it ended in the preseason without a new contract.

IMO, you can thank VPI for this, I'd be near certain Jim got the idea from the IHOF player pages.

Possibly many people not in IHOF who called for this type of thing had a little something to do with it too.

Maybe, but I think having it on those pages - and Jim seeing how often those pages were referenced - had a fair impact on this.

Not to threadjack, but have any of you guys noticed this?

Any real good idea what bearing it has on things?

I think it is an indication of how well the guy might switch to the other position as well as how well he might play those positions "out of position."

from what i gather, it shows a vague rating of how the player 'could' perform in the other positions shown.

Jim playing in a MP league was the best thing that ever happened to the FOF franchise IMO. I bet a lot of these changes were at least partly due to his participation over there.
