What's the difference between a SE and FL?

I love it. If only someone at EA had a math degree.

Ok. All file names in place. Just need to create and upload the others. Refresh is your friend, if you're reading this as I post.

QB is the most obvious position where there's a big shift. People have wondered if teams trade up too much for QB's. Clearly, the top-tier guys have more value than ever before, at least from a ratings perspective. Something to consider: even if the playoff teams were the teams with the 12 best starting QB's, we're looking at a team in the playoffs with a starting QB rated under 50, and 9 playoff teams with QB's rated under 60.

Another thought: looking at those DT's and ILB's, the money-saving tactic in MP of going with the 3-4 may be pretty questionable in this version.

I so wish other games would get a clue. Those are just terrific. 100/100 All time superstar. 75/100 superstar. 50/100 average. Why is this so difficult for other games to understand. Bravo Jim, bravo.

A few other thoughts...
Far fewer stud FB's
Stud CB's may be as scarce as stud QB's
ROFLMBAO!!!! There's a RB named B.J. Clinton!
A good number of solid RB's
Very few good RB's with more than 6 years' experience
A top 10 receiving tandem will probably include a starter rated only around 50 or so.
Guards ain't scarce.
In general, I love having some true stand-out looking players. This looks like it could be much-improved from FOF2K4.

It will be interesting to see how the previous version of FOF compares to this distribution.

I completely agree. Making those topflight (80s) players a mark above the rest is great, and it makes those 90s players all the more awesome.

Can you say "under the hood"?
Really great stuff, with big implications for MP leagues that are going to convert.

Overall it looks like the game is going to be going the way of games that have used historical draft files (which are notoriously under-strength). Drafting someone who will be 40+ in potential basically is getting a future starter.
I just wonder if the results in a MP league (where owners make more of an effort to develop young talent compared to the AI) would be different, with better talent across the board.

A quick look also suggests that Jim have fixed the problem he mentioned some time back that young players were developing to slow. Several of the top players have only 2, 3 and 4 years experience. This is properly tied in to the earlier retirement.

What's the difference between a SE and FL?
From wikipedia
Split end: A receiver on the line of scrimmage, necessary to meet the rule requiring seven such players at snap. Where applicable, this receiver is on the opposite side of the tight end. The split end is farthest from center on his side of the field.
Flanker: A receiver lining up behind the line of scrimmage, also known as a wide out. Frequently the team's featured receiver, the flanker uses the initial buffer between himself and a defender to avoid jamming, legal contact within five yards of the line of scrimmage. The flanker is generally on the same side of the formation as a tight end. As with the split end, this receiver is the farthest player from center on his side of the field

The implications of this are pretty big as well, particularly for MP leagues. There will be far less dynasties as the player turn-over is greater, meaning that anyone should have a chance of making their franchise a contendor in the space of three years or so (as long as they can get a decent quarterback). Overall this should mean that long-term success in MP play will be more dependent on the owner's team-building ability and less on dumb luck.
Which is, generally, fantastic news.
Except not for me. :(
PS It also means that "rebuilding" efforts won't be quite as derisable a concept as it has been in 2004.
