Good post. I replied (cusefan95) and played a bit of devil's advocate. Still, good post.

Umm, it depends on your page settings. If you aren't seeing 'the post' from the link Skydog provided, it's on the next page, one of the first.

I actually agree with everything Jon said. But there is a difference when talking about m-p. Right now, I am involved in a Civ2 PBEM and an online OOTP4 league. In the league, I take my turn every three days, so that is like PBEM, if you want to think of that way. I don't consider those examples m-p, esp. when Jon brought up the point about waiting. m-p in that instance would be like playing Civ2 MP, which I will not do and there you would have an example of each of the points Jon made. I don't know how TDCB will be set up in m-p but if it's like OOTP4, then that is not m-p but more like PBEM and that is part of the point Marmel is making.

Multiplayer is a blast (JBl, RWBL babyy..) but I would love to see the complete single player 1.2 out sooner rather than later.

And, I guess, part of the point I was making too.

(Remember now, I was answering a question about why someone wouldn't want to play m-p, not why m-p was evil or anything like that)

I don't want the drawbacks (mostly related to pace) of PBEM any more than I want the drawbacks of "simultaneously hot-seat" versions of m-p.

If I'm following you here, I think I was actually complaining more about PBEM style than about a multi-p style that you'd see in, say, a FPS or arcade game.
